Would there be any issues that would prevent me from relocating the fuel filter on my Saltare from under the front starboard side of the engine,(which I might add is a real @##$$^&* to get to) to. To a location that is more accessible, towarde the rear of the engine. Does the filter need to be that close to the fuel pump? It looks like all I would need is about 4ft of 3/8 fuel line.

That would be fine, in fact I would completely replace the Fram filter and install a new type with the replaceable element which looks like an oil filter. Much easier to replace the element and cheaper too. Remember to use USCG approved fuel line approved for alcohol use. Al

Thanks for the info. I certainly will be getting rid of the Fram. I'll just order the fuel hose from DIM.

You'll be fine. I think the stock location for a lot of these is behind the engine on the starboard side (at least it was for mine.) My local NAPA store carried the marine fuel line and fuel water seperator assembly for less than $30.

Thanks wotan. I'll check my napa. That will be a lot easier than ordering.
