iPod control and the VISION

I recently purchased a new to me 2010 Supra Launch 24 ssv.

Should I be able to connect my itouch/ipod to the usb in the glovebox and be able to control it from the Vision system?

I get an error message on the screen so I have only been able to use the aux jack but that stinks because you have to keep reaching over to change the songs or have someone else in the boat play DJ.

Anyone?

You have to get a seperate cable and attach it to the main stereo unit. They are about 20 bucks
