07 21v cracked tower

I have an 07 21v and recently noticed the tower has started cracking. Its on the upper part of the tower, about an inch away from one of the welds. It runs about half the circumference of the tube.

Has this happened to anybody else?

There was a post over on the Moomba forum recently with a crack his 2007 and he was asking the same question, I bet they are the same towers as ours. I need to check my '07 this weekend.

This is happening to me on my 2005 supra 21V. I had the original cracks welded a few years ago and now they’re cracking again in the same spots!
I’m at a loss, I have no idea what to do from here.
Can someone please help?

Thread from 2011 - your getting cracks around the welds?

From what I read around the forums, a weld is the fix.

I would have someone grind it down and re-weld. Maybe a different shop.

Same thing on my 07 Supra 21V. Have you found any solution or replacement? I have had mine welded three times now and it keeps cracking. Looking to options without getting a new tower.
