View Full Version : Oil Pressure @ Idle???

Was wondering what everyone was reading on the guage.... Mine was sitting at 15psi at idle and 30psi at 2500rpm. Seems a tad low to me but might be the norm with a 1000 hr engine. Perhaps a 10w40 for the next oil change.

A little low, but I'd run it no worries. Thicker oil should bring it up a little more into the comfort zone.

In the manual for my 96 comp 351 gt40 it calls for straight 40w thats what I use.

Yeah, this is what is should be around. Ditch the 10w40 and go straight 40w. No need for low temp oil. You won't be running that thing when it's 40 degrees out, I hope.

skidim recommended NAPA 40wt so that's what I used.
