We stayed with some friends for a few days on the lake. Gorgeous place. I think we're going to make this our summer vacation destination next year.

Yea, its my brother inlaws 24ve. Very nice boat but its a challenge getting ballast in it because of the small storage lockers. I still like the wave our 24's throw a lot better.

I'm not supposed to tell, but since it's just between us.... It's Lake Jocassee in South Carolina. Hands down the most beautiful lake I've been to. Crystal clear water. Never even remotely crowded. Waterfalls all over the place. Cliff jumping. Scuba diving. Snorkeling. We love it.

Yes, I probably am, but I'll be going to Ocoee. I hope you get that cough figured out. Just let me know if you need an extra hand when that manifold comes in. I'd be glad to help out.

Just got back from my annual week long vacation with the boat in northern Michigan. Went to try and post the pics straight from my computer but apparently they are a little too big of a file size. Guess I will have to host them somewhere else first and then link them here. Any suggestions on that in the meantime?

photobucket ... free and easy. Plus you can post full size pics but copy the IMG tag.

The first picture is just relaxing on the boat, taking a conference call for work since the only place I got cell coverage was out on the water or way in town, I opted to take it on the boat. Saw some deer running along the shore while I was floating too. Then, later in the week, my family and I decided to get the five of six family members present up on skis and then to come around and drop one and then slalom around the lake. The last picture is of the shoreline, south side of the lake where the resort is with the boats tied up on the buoys for the evening.

Edit: Ok, got the links in there but I can't figure out how to get the images to show. KG, little help please?

jetlink ... in your photobucket account you can right click on a picture and it will give you several copy options. Choose the IMG tag. Then when you hit paste in your reply it will tag it with pic link , which makes the pics big (like above). Your pics were URL copies ([url] instead of [img]).

Also, you can only post 4 pics in a thread.

Thanks man, see, this is what happens when you spend more than 48 hours without forum access, you forget about things like four pics being the max in a post.

The first picture is as we approach where the little lake dumps over a dam into Lake Michigan, beach the boat and walk a little bit and you are right on the beach at Lake Michigan. There was a really big storm coming across the lake which is why the waves were big. Watched the sunset almost every night like this.

These are two short clips I managed to get with my water video camera. Make sure your volume is turned down or muted as the wind noise is rather loud.

I think there was 12 people total in the boat, there were two more sitting on the bow. I was too scared to go any faster than putting, wish I did now just to see the wake.

There are two bullet lines x600's and one shadow caster scm10. If I were to do it over again I wouldn't even bother with the bullet lines, they were a waste of time and money. Here's a pic with just them in.

Haugy, I love the new Saltare. Do you have any better pictures closer up of how/where the New Dimension tower mounts? Would be nice to get one for mine, and with how I think it mounts from your pics, I wouldnt' even have to have my cover modified to fit it. Not that it's in my budget at the moment but if I stumble on some money for next season it would be nice to get boards off the floor!

haugy...curious about something. I noticed you do the same on your Salt as the Mariah with the rear strap. Why do you go all the way over the boat rather than using two straps on the back hooks? Does it work better for keeping the back end of the boat stable?

haugy...curious about something. I noticed you do the same on your Salt as the Mariah with the rear strap. Why do you go all the way over the boat rather than using two straps on the back hooks? Does it work better for keeping the back end of the boat stable?

Many reasons.
1) To put a strap to the swim platform on my Mariah and Saltare I'd have to fish it behind the platform. And since the tiedowns are farther back then the platform, when I tighten them down, they will be snug up against the platform. But if I hit a major bump and the boat wants to move the platform will be the first thing to give out. It could probably handle a few tugs, but I would rather not weaken the bolts to the hull, or the platform itself.
2) By doing it this way allows me to really tighten down the strap to ensure there is no movement. When I put it on at the ramp, it's only a 1 mile ride home at most. I don't strap it, I'm just careful. But traveling on interstates and highways, I strap it down solid for no movement. You can also see a bowline pulling the bow eye down to the trailer to ensure no bouncing from the bow either. Bow rope to pull it down, the stern strap to ensure everything is tight. Boat won't bounce, or move, unless all hell breaks loose.
3) Keeps the rear hatch closed which with a good bounce can pop open and out go my lifejackets.

I prefer the floods for the boat, the spots might be better for the underwater usage. Keep in mind that water is ocean water, not lake.

Sorry, I just woke up from my dream & realized the Supra fairies didn't come steal my boat during the night and complete the restoration - my project is still back in the garage while you're obviously out enjoying yours. Blackntan, I have my boat up in northern Illinois all summer and I'm still going to school down here in Missouri. When school starts, I can't afford the money and most of all TIME that it takes to have a boat with me. I have plenty of places down here where I could keep it and use it, but I also have plenty of friends I've made that are happy to have me out on the water so I don't miss out on too much.

Blackntan, yeah I had a great example this weekend. I was invited on a 100 mile boat trip up the Mississippi from St. Charles, MO area to Quincy, IL for the annual "Hogback" festival. Basically just an excuse to have a great time on the water. In this first picture the boat on the left is the boat we were on, the one on the right was some other friends of ours. At one point we probably had 30 or so boats cruising along with us. We were going to bring a ski boat along but couldn't justify it after a few people dropped out last minute.

If I go next year, I will DEFINITELY be bringing the Supra : )

Nice Titan.

I received an exciting special delivery this past week. This is also a good example of friends helping me out with boating, skiing, and riding while at school.

So my college roommate/vice president of the ski team's dad (also my girlfriend's dad) just purchased a 2010 Prostar 197 this summer and had his old 89 Supra Comp just sitting around. Anyways, we were able to talk him into letting the team lease the boat from him on a semester to semester basis. Soooooo, here's a pic of the Comp sitting in my driveway at school! I've done plenty of skiing behind this boat already but it will be taking its maiden voyage with the team this Thursday after classes.

Alright, I have two interested. I'm going to give this more thought over the winter and see if we can't organize something for next year.

Since this is a picture thread, I'm including a picture from another event I've had in August. Not boating related, but my daughter was just baptized. We're thrilled with her decision. I'm a proud papa.

Congratulations Titan - I know it makes a dad happy when his children make the right choices and follow Christ.
I too would be interested in the whole Knoxville thing - be sure to start a thread if you decide to plan a trip.

Titan...very cool...congrats. I agree with Clint's sentiment. I'll work on getting some pictures posted in the next couple weeks. I've been lacking pictures and we've been out quite a bit. We've been going out on weekdays with the guys trying to get a chapter of Wake Board Church established. I would love to see us have a picture like that of your daughter's with someone that makes the same decision with us at the lake.

Boat looks sick!

I saw in another post you from the GTA. Where do you usually launch/ride. Glad to see some more supra's up here!

Ahh that's awesome, I was thinking those pic's looked suspiciously like Big Chief on couch.

I'm down in Innisfill/cooks bay area. Hoping to make the trip up to Big Chief at some point, not sure if it will be this season or not, but will defiantly keep my eyes out for your comp. I have an all black Sunsport, if you see me up that way don't hesitate to introduce yourself.

HOLY CRAP JonyB!!!! He's huge!!! Wow, I can't believe how much he has grown. Boat's looking sexy as always. The Rev's look sick. I'm sure you're deaf now, but I'll make sure to sign language for ya.

Huh? Oh, wait.... Yeah, he's a monster. That was last Friday and it was just me and him cruising the lake. He loves it out there. We'll be down your way next Sunday, don't forget.
