Disabling igniton module for compression test

Is it as simple as removing the 8 wires from the coil packs? If not, how is it done?

Just unplug the coil. It's a two wire plastic clip that plugs in to the bottom of the coil on the top of the distributor. The coil won't get 12volts and can't fire the spark plugs.
