Hey guys. First post to the site. I just purchased a 2007 launch 20ssv and was looking around the boat this weekend. When looking under the dash, I saw a coiled cord with a controller at the end. It looks like something was missing. I don't know what this controls. Any ideas? Thanks.

Sounds like it might have gone to a volume control to an amp on an old stereo system? Is it stock or does it look like the boat had a big stereo system in it before you bought it?

Hey all, (oh boy, looks like I accidentally edited Digg's post - didn't mean to do that!)

I seem to recall that the 2007 came with a "FLASHLIGHT" under the dash, was it possibly for that?

The pictures on page 42 of the 2007 owners manual show the coiled wire in 2 pictures, but not what is at the other end of it.

I have a 2006 and when you said "coiled cord", the first thing that came to mind was the flashlight. However, the controller thing you mentioned left me confused.

Duh, it's the old skool cell phone cord for the bagphone. Sheesh, do I have to tell you guys everything??

It's for the flashlight. You know, the one that doesn't work unless the boat has power? At least mine never did. Cord was also too short to bring it out to the other compartment. Great idea on paper, I guess.

You guys are great! Thanks for the help. The boat is at the lake and I will not see it until this weekend (maybe). I'll report back and let you guys know if it is the flashlight.

Oh yeah that makes sense that it is the flashlight. I figured you were talking about a phone jack style end. Everyone is right that it is probably the flash light and you can probably just have the light replaced from your dealer if you want. I am not sure it was a real popular option or ever worked like it was supposed to, so you will probably want to just leave it.
