'93 Supra Sunsport

Just wanted to post our new (to us) 1993 Supra Sunsport. There aren't many of these boats around central Wisconsin that I've seen. Mostly Mastercraft and Malibu with the occasional Nautique. This boat was purchased from "Chachi" around Hudson, WI. We've owned for 2 weeks and can't wait until next summer to enjoy it. So far it has been running like crap, but I think I fixed the problem (sticking power valve and loose bowl bolts causing small gas leak). The boat came with just about everything on my "wanted" list (e.g. ballast, tower, open bow, no wood, etc). Just need to add some tower speakers and perfect pass and it will be perfect! The pictures are of my two soon-to-be boarders the evening I brought the boat home.

Congrats on the purchase & welcome - nice lookin' boat. Is that black or dark blue on the hull? Don't feel slighted - traffic's been light on the board lately (me included). Maybe those that still have water are busy getting some last runs in for the season?

Thanks! The boat was repainted grey. I think it's a pretty cool color for the boat. It was originally red. Just need to get some graphics put on. Anyone know a good place to buy? I know of a local company that can probably do it, not sure if they can replicate (legally) Supra's graphics.

That's true. I guess right now you are getting in your last runs or busy winterizing!

I've been on the boat at the Supra meetup here a few times... Seemed like it was in good shape. Chachi was a nice guy but I don't have any kind of "inside info" for you. ;)

I swear I saw this boat out about a month ago! Must have been just before you bought it? We were pulling out of the launch while a blue supra drove by and shouted at me. I assumed it was Chachi but he was out just far enough that I couldn't tell for sure.

Season is wrapping up... I was on the stand-up jetski on Sunday and I'll surf tonight and then I think it's time to start thinking of winterizing. :(

I figured you had at least seen the boat. Chachi told me that you guys always had a big meet up there with a bunch of Supra boats. You may have seen the boat a month ago. I've only had it for about 2 weeks. I bought it the last 80 degree weekend we had this year. I agree that he is a very nice guy. Would totally hang with him if he were closer!

I think it's in good shape. Needed some good cleaning on the seat bottoms and storage, but everything cleaned up pretty nice. I'm gonna don the wet suit and get my first set in this weekend. Haven't surfed yet...saving it for next year!

Was out this weekend. First time a wakeboard in 3 years! Couldn't believe how wide of a wake the Sunsport has. For the life of me I could not jump wake to wake. I think I need to shorten the rope and fill up with ballast. Had the kids with me so I didn't want to mess around with the ballast. WI River is COLD! Thank God for a dry suit!! :razz:

Anyone notice their PCM running better without the plastic PROTEC shroud over the carb? Mine runs like crap with it on, and runs great with it off. I wonder if it starves air flow when it's on the carb...

nice find... add a shower if you don't allready have one, makes a big difference in warming up... blends water from the output of the impeller pump and the block water jacket. Mount behind/under the rear seat, hose down on the swim platform before and after boarding.

It's on my list...just a little further down. Want perfect pass, tower speakers, and integrated ballast before I worry about being warm!!
