This is actually a video, but I thought it still applies. The kid on top is my son.

I would have never thought to "hang 10" on a wakeboard. I might have to give that a shot this weekend.

Here's a video of myself surfing behind a 2011 Tige RZ4 that a buddy just purchased. I'm only 2 months out of surgery and NOT supposed to do ANY weight-bearing stuff and I'm NOT supposed to do anything like this until next summer. Hasn't stopped me from slaloming, tricking, jumping, wakeboarding, and wakesurfing though : ) Foot feels great, despite the 3 screws inside there still.

So how bad a was this new RZ4?

That could possibly be my #1 pick of any boat right ... you know, if i won the lottery, lol

I was pretty impressed, the surf wake was one of the best I've ever been on and to be quite honest, the family that owns it doesn't really know what they're doing. I think with a little better driving and some ballast tweaking they could have had that thing roaring. The wakeboard wake was fairly nice, though I didn't pay much attention to it because I'm just cruising around because of my foot, can't jump or do anything fun. The interior was pretty cool, wetsounds everything, nice, easy-to-use touch screen dash. They had the model that doesn't have a mirror and uses the rear facing camera that tracks the rope, that was pretty slick and the screen stayed pretty bright in direct sunlight. We had 11 people in it and it felt like it was empty, I'm sold on pickle-forks from a utilitarian standpoint.

How much Ballast did you have in the back end of your boat?

How much Ballast did you have in the back end of your boat?

Not sure if you were asking about mine or the RZ4 .....

In those pics we had

1100 ski locker
400 sunpad
1180 playpen locker
300ish sitting in the playpen.
2 people in the boat.

My typical weekend setup is the 1100 full and 1180 playpen full for all hidden ballast. Works great.

Well everybody, Its not a picture and its not from behind a boat, but it is in October. I recently travelled to Greenville, NC where they have The East Coast Wake Park which has a sessitec2.0 cable and some obstacles. So here is the GoPro video I shot of it.

wspeedin - so does someone have to come get you in a jetski or something? How do you get back? It seems like the setup time for each run would be significant.

Titan, at the end of the video you can see me being towed back to shore by just holding onto the cable handle. What I was doing was riding down to one end, then starting again from the other end and coming back, then do it all over again. If I fell the operator would just bring the cable back to where I fell and we would go from there. But at the end of the day I was sooo tired I just held onto the handle and he brought me back to shore. :)

Nice ride!!! I love that SUV and def a towing beast. I had the 6.0 in an older one and it towed great, I'm sure the 6.2 is better than it.

Nice...I'm sure you're going to like it. I'm loving our Avalanche which is basically built on the same platform. The larger engine would be nice. You're going to love that back-up camera...it's one of my favorite options for hooking to the trailer. It also helps a lot backing out of tight parking spaces at the lake when you are going to fetch the boat.

Looks windy! Having that problem here, get a nice still and sunny day or two every week but weekends are cold and blown out. Got out Sunday despite 15-20 MPH winds and miraculously found sheltered water to ride. Forgot the camera, and the phone, so no pics. I'll try to get some this coming weekend.

The photo on the trailer was from Friday, I didn't even take it off the trailer because of the wind! The other photo looking over the dash was from Sunday and it was EXTREMELY pleasant, 82 degrees and sunny with a slight breeze. We wimped out and didn't surf or board but hope we have another day to make up for it this Fall before I winterize.

Is that your truck camper in one of the pics? I've been thinking about getting one so we could camp and pull the boat without having to use a tent. Tent is fine with me, but the wife says she's "been there and done that" (we used to tent camp, then went to a pop-up, then travel trailer - and she 'aint goin' back!). Anyway it looks like a great time!!!

No, that was someone that was with us. We still tent it. We're thinking we are going to get a trailer in a few years (once the wife is done with school). I'm contemplating a 5th wheel and tandem tow the boat, or a standard bumper pull and have two tow vehicles. My oldest will be around 15-16 by the time we're ready so we may just make sure the vehicle he drives is a truck that can pull the boat. We have joked about getting an '89 model truck and painting it to match the boat.

1st trip to HYDROUS!!! It was so AWSOME!! I cant feel or move my arms though, su if i muss this up you know why. Typing hurts. lol. While I was waiting for my crew to get there make-up down and get to hydrous (30-mins late) that gave me time to shop the Slingshot line-up. So I bought the 141 Reflex, wider, bigger and softer than my 139 Ibex Carbon. I went ahead and bought form Hydrous so that my money would stay local and help them out too. Then one of the coolest things that happened while I was standing in the line to ride, was one of the the owners from Hydrous said, "hey, your that solar attic fan guy on our Facebook page" I said yep! And he said, "I need 2- solar fans for the Hydrous building, you want to trade a board or something? LOL. And I said, I JUST BOUGHT ONE! So I am looking into doing that job this week. Cool! The park is a TON of fun. My arms are paying for it right now, but all I can say right now if your going to ride at the park..add pull downs to your workout routine. The handles pull at such a angle that it uses muscles you NEVER use on a regular day, and it wouldn't hurt to add hand or grip exercise to your routine too! Its hard to hold on to the litlle 10" wet wooden handle. I only hit about 1'-2' of the ramp and one of the sliders due to the learning curve of the cable, arm angle and riding my board with zero fins, and I also didnt try out my new board..I will this sat?? I only faceplanted my first time off of the start, after that I didnt fall any other time.....except when I cart-wheeled of of the slider box off the other side. lmao, no one saw that one. It was my only walf of shame back to the start. IT WAS A TON OF FUN. I cant wait to go back (I already started my new workout routine) and ride some more, I felt like a little kid at Six-Flags again. : )) Jet

Back in my dumber days, we would be out riding two weeks after the ice broke on the lake at my buddies place. We would get a raging bonfire going out back, crank the heat in the cabin and also have a fire going in the fire place, wet suits and dock start and hopefully a dock or close to a dock finish.

Great pics, KG. What lake?

Yea, I remember the days of my youth... As the water would cool - first a shorty, then full suit, then full suit filled with warm shower water, then finally a drysuit. I've got pics from college days running the slalom course on Beaver Lake with ice on the shore. But now after so many years in Texas (and too many old injuries), I think my watersports run the "rule of 30". Take my age and add 30 to calculate the minimum water temp for me to get wet. At 17 - I did sub 50 degrees, at 30 - I could handle 60, but now at 47 - 77 degrees sounds about right...
