It would be very simple to have your fabricator splice in a section of tube, or start over with another aluminum tube the dimension that you need. The swivel could be removed from the old and added to the new. You could mount an eye bolt and use a ratchet strap like I do. I was about to go this route myself, because they want so much money for new pylons, then I found this used one.

    Hi Blake,

I have a two-piece Skylon that I bought used. It didn't have the original cable when I got it, so I drilled the top for an eye bolt to connect a ratchet strap to. My eye bolt hole is a little higher on the pole than the original hole for the cable, which might be why it works. I simply got lucky that the strap cleared the bimini.

Perhaps you could modify yours by moving your strap attachment farther up the pole?

I also have a board rack that clamps to the larger (lower) tube of the Skylon, which would not let me use the bimini because the lower tube barely pokes through the bimini fabric.

    Hope this helps,

    Rick

I've got a 99 Legacy that i purchased last year. It's a PCM Pro Ski HO 5.7. I'm having a hard time finding the HP of it. Any ideas where to check? Everywhere i call supra technicians tell me that it's very unusual that supras come with a PCM engine in them. They usually come with an Indmar engine. Is that true?
  4. ok. im not close to my boat right now, but as soon as i can, i will look again. thanks for the info.

I think so... double check right at one of the corners of the edge of the valve cover. If they are in fact gt heads, that increases the value of the boat quite a bit...
  6. oh thats interesting. i didn't see GT stamped on the heads. Could i tell by the enginge model number?

Nope, that was a factory option. Pcm made three 351 packages. 351 base motor(black valve covers); 351 H.O. with GT-40 top end, standard ignition, and bigger carb(also bigger power and torque); and the Boss GT-40 with GT-40p heads, PTI ignition, full roller engine, huge carb, bigger valves, exhaust, and high performance pistons.
Finding Supras with the H.O. or the Boss motor in them is very rare these days...
  8. ok. i will look and see. were the gt-40 heads factory or an aftermarket item?

Beautiful comp you got there. It looks like the 351 H.O. Check the corner of the heads and see if it has "gt" stamped on them. If it does those are GT-40 heads...
