Thanks sybrmike. I have allready looked over your whole rebuild thread and it looks like you know what your doing. Your salty looks great. I will definatly hit you up for some advice later on. Got my baby runing good and the last week i've been working on installing the tower. Taking my time with it so it's solid. The interior is in great shape still have some interior wood to sand and oil. Trailer bunks need some attention. I'm sure some day stringers and floor too. I will post some pics when the tower is done.
I posted on the link fo rthe vinyl Good times
Hey, congrats! Hope he was able to find the title. Good luck with the resto (hope it goes faster than mine) & keep us posted. If we ever get em back on the water - maybe we can all meet up at Travis for a Saltare reunion someday. I owe Salty87 a cold beverage for some earlier help & know another buddy up there with a newer Salt.
I ended up buying the salt at Canyon Lake afterall couldn't pass up on the price. I pulled the seats and tank out and will be doing some floor / stringer work for starters. I dont know if I can get by without having to seperate the boat or just a partial stringer job. Either way I have a lot of work to do. Thanks
Good luck with the title search. Might be a PITA, but you might be able to do a salvage title with the owner at the court house if it's the right one for you. There was another Salt on a lift down in Clear Lake area I've seen for sale several times off and on. I never saw it in person, but I think the price was low due to brackish/salt water use. I'll keep an eye out for you & again, good luck.
Thanks for the info I'm sure its the same one. It is a bit of a basket case but I think I should be able to save her. The owner was actually one of the Wrecker drivers that was at the scene of my accident. So it is actually the first one I have looked at. The problem is he is having a hard time finding the title and it won't do me any good without that. So we will see where I end up. If you know of any others in your area please let me know. Thanks
Thanks for the info and it might just be the same one near Canyon Lake. Any reason why you didn't buy this one?
