For ones of you that store your supra boat on lifts, do you prefer/ use vertical or cantilever lifts? Are either ok to use?

For ones of you that store your supra boat on lifts, do you prefer/ use vertical or cantilever lifts? Are either ok to use?

I prefer cantilever but that's because I always go over the weight recommendations. With cantilever, all of the load is on the cables when you first bring the boat out of the water. Once it's up the load is on the legs. So...if the cable breaks, it will happen while you're there. Also, the cantilevers tend to allow for shallower water, at least in my experience. Currently I have a vertical lift. Works great. From talking to people it sounds like the cables on the vertical's do tend to break while you're raising the boat rather than later. You can avoid all of the problems I've had by replacing cables when they start to fray, and getting a lift with the appropriate capacity.
