Bow Protection

I've been researching bow protection for when towing. I've seen just about all of the bolt on stuff. I was wondering if anyone has used anything that actually sticks to the gelcoat? I am anticipating using the clear plastic that you use on carpet when showing a house. Its really thin, one time use stuff that will only protect against the smallest stuff but better than nothing. I prefer something that is reusable and sticks to the gelcoat so you wouldn't have abrasion between the two.

I wouldn't mind fabing up something that attaches to the trailer but do not want to alter the trailer (its in great shape) and don't like the looks of the fabric idea between the trailer and tow vehicle.

Anyone have some pictures they would mind posting for ideas?
