So I got all the small stuff done ... platform/ new wiring/ blowers/ fuel tank/ winsheild/ and I broke my throttle cable when I installed it ... ugh! Probably. Needed to be replaced, I figured out the volt gauge it reads from signal or ignition .. don't use both lol ... that's a new one on me ... but rubrail will be
Going on today .. and fasten the front railings on .... I'm moving to are new house Friday and sat so I plan to lake test Sunday morning to see if she floats! ! Lol I will update photos later .... -lively-
Where the updated pics? I dropped mine off yesterday to get a rear seat built
Lookin good
You're getting so close...looking good man!
I plan to lake test Sunday morning .. Have a question though I aligned my couplers and put in gear on trailer and rev to 2000 and had a small vibration .. Will the thrust and being in water cancel that out ? I plan to tram motor more at lake but just wanted some insight . Cause I wAs told its a self aligning cause it's all connected to rubber . ( mounts / cutlass ect..)
What do y'all think ?
Were you running it in gear and spinning the shaft? That may be what you were hearing / feeling. The cutlass bearing needs to be wet or else it makes quite a bit of noise and vibration.
Man, you are knocking this one out in a hurry. Looking good.
Yes, it'll make noise and rumble in gear on the trailer. Careful running it in gear on the trailer - you can burn up the cutlass bearings in a hurry. If you've got a dripless seal, the flush water will help keep it wet but still generally not a good idea.
Good idea to recheck the alignment on the water - things can settle a bit differently from the trailer. I rechecked mine on the water, but it was the same.
I just gave the cutlass a squirt of oil / water to lube it up .. I just didn't know what to expect on the trailer cause I did not try it in gear before rebuild ... I'm going to check Thursday dry fit again . And then Sunday morning at dock .. But yeah ! She's ready to
Get wet and play her tunes !!
Oh an how my thumbs hurt from that damn insert ! Lol that was fun
She is ready boys! Fathers day morn I'm splashing down ! I finished up the odds and ends last night and gotta get my tags put on today ... ill let y'all know
how she floats with videos soon as I can
Good luck! I would try and put her in the day before you want to go out, that way if there is anything you need to adjust or fix (oh, and you will) that way it wont mess up your day. Good luck man.
So?????? Unveiling and pictures of the finished ride?
Splash ! She floats ! Lol
I put her in and I found a couple things to tighty up ..
Rear intake seal is leaking just enough to piss u off lol ..
No biggie , I reseal this week ..
Timing is off a little . Popping under full load , I remove distributor when I painted block
And put her a tdc and aligned at 0 degrees .. Just need to bring my timing light and mess with it a bit ..
I did not feel vibration in shaft or see it move in any direction ..
Trans held strong ! And did what it is supposed to do ..
Question : speedo - that brass pipe with the input and output for the pressure line .. Is that a one way dill ?
Are they installed a certain way for the speedo to pick up ?
I didn't get a video , cause I was so excited that I have a floating rig again , but I will upload some pics shortly ..
Thanks again guys !
Wake tower is getting welded this Friday ..

I know those straps are just snug. But get them off of there. Not made for that. Man, that interior is BEAUTIFUL!! I also like pulling the wooden door off of the dog house. Cool idea. Im tired of redoing mine every year. lol.
8-channel amp?? I dont think I have ever seen one?? How big is it?? She looks great man.
Thanks jet! The amp is made by wet entertainment .. its 2 quads that are in the same box ; its not big like 2' long ... @ 100w rms per unit @ 4 ohms it should
Scream! I have backing plates on my platform brackets so no worry there .. just didn't know how much and if it would bounce around
Do you not have hooks to put the straps on from the factory?
If you did want to alleviate stress on the platform, you could go up and over the back end of the boat and just cinch the whole thing down, too. Definitely have something back there whatever you do.
Hey Lively great rebuild man boat looks killer, love the orange. Ive got a ? about the A frame u built. Going to strt pulling the top and engine on my Salt later this month and was thinking of stealing ur design. Wanted to know if u used it to pull ur engine as well as cap. Also how it did, any signs of stress so i know to beef it up a bit or if i should be good with what u used. Thx
I used 4 4x4 x12 lumber with 2x4 through bolted for cross support, top is not heavy just awkward and long .. get a few buddies to help pull it and set on
ground, if u pull engine with it, I would deff beef the cross braces up and through bolt everything

What's up guys ! Man what a weekend so far ! I took the family camping and we set up at a local island @eagle mountain lake , tx
It was a blast ! We went tubing , wakeboarding , and jammed out to some great tunes !
Here are some pics of where I'm at so far ...

Looking good! The only thing that (to me) sticks out on that boat is the cheesy registration numbers. Go drop a few bucks at 3dlettering.com and upgrade those!!
^ good catch. would give johnny law a reason to stop you too. supposed to be contrasting colors against their background. white on white es no bueno.
Man is the boating season already over ? well i am thinking about some new things to putt on in the winter ... Xtab from bennet / New tower / decals/ intake and TB injection (junk yard special :) ) but here is "LIVELYHOOD" http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...308B17E2C6.jpg
and if you look to the top right of my tower .. that my friends is a weak weld that broke .. lol that tower is weak as it is anyway ...
those of you that have towers .. do they sway when your underway ? or is it more rigid and firm ?
On my Monster tower(MT-1) the left rear leg keeps coming loose at the top swivel that allows the tower to fold down... Havent heard back from them yet about a fix. Wish I had waited and gotten a Titan. I think they look alot better, and 1 pin to fold.
ill check that out ... i like my look , but deff want something more rigid
+1 for the Titan. I put one on my Salt & it does not move. I've towed everything from wakeboards, 3 person tubes, and even comp slaloms & it doesn't flex. Yeah, I know tubes from the tower are supposed to be a no-no, but I reinforced the heck outta the backside of the mounts (17 oz glass over 3/4" ply). Also, the Titan uses heim joints at the deck joint so the loads are transferred with minimal torque. On the down side, I have to remove the front wishbone completely to fit under my garage door header. Also the design makes it difficult to fit a functional bimini (planned winter project). Oh, and the tubes are stainless so drilling for tower speakers takes good quality drill bits.
The look isn't for everyone - but here's some pics mounted on my Salt for reference

Mike - that last photo is interesting. My Salt doesn't kick up that much water when idling, so maybe my water flow is less? I don't have any temperature issues, so I'm not sure what the harm might be.
p.s. I like how you said +1 for the Titan. I'll just pretend you meant that personally for me. :p
I bet that is not a "low" idle in that picture. I know on my comp with the baby engine, starting and then a high idle resonates pretty hard off of the composite platform I have. I have a feeling that if I had a teak platform like both of you that mine would look like that doing a high idle.
I noticed the same thing. The SuperTrapps can be oriented to face down or face up. My guess is that his were faced up. It makes quite a difference.
SuperTrapps radiate around in a 360 degree pattern however, Mike is running flappers I believe.
