Good for you man! I want to do it too but I dont think I'll have time. This would be the time to do it. Are you doing gel coat or paint?

I am going to do a base/clear paint. Gelcoat is a lot of work, and I wouldn't be able to replicate the purple I want for a reasonable price. Base/clear will be just fine. I plan to keep it out of the water which helps as well.

Is that "plum"...my 93 ranger was similar or the same color.

I believe that "Plum" is the name, but I am not really sure to be honest.

My brother and I were able to get the motor installed and aligned on Saturday. What a great feeling to get the motor back in. My next big hurdle is painting the boat, every time I find a place to paint it, it falls through. Oh well, it will work out.

My brother had some extra free time this weekend and he can never sit still, so I was happy to find that he took the time to rebuild the dog-house base for me. He also whipped up a mold to re-create a broken blower vent/panel. Not sure of the proper name, but it is the plastic piece screwed to the transom that one of the blowers hooks up to. It removes air from next to the engine via the pvc pipe attached to the stringer. My old plastic one was so brittle that it broke when I removed it.

The redneck mold actually worked perfect. Pulled the first and hopefully only piece we need off of it. A little trim, sand, and paint and she will be good as new.

A window of opportunity presented itself this weekend so I was able to paint the bottom part of the boat. I will paint the top deck at a later date, hopefully not too far from now. I think it turned out pretty cool, I am happy with the results.

I was able to use a local warehouse for the weekend to paint the boat. It is in-between tenants so I was lucky to sneak in for a couple days. The place is huge, and was completely empty. My brother and I took an air compressor from our dad's shop and wired it into the service at the warehouse for the weekend, it worked out perfect. Cranked up the heat and let the place warm up and she was ready to paint.

This is a close up with my phone, it looks awesome in bright light! Can't wait to see it in the sunlight this summer. I pulled it out of the garage yesterday on my lunch break because it was very sunny outside. It looks awesome under the sun!
