Looking into a newer boat

Unless your limited on length due to garage/storage I would not get anything smaller than a 22. I went from a 86 SN which is 19.5 and max capacity of 6 to my 03 22ssv and haven't looked back. You will surf behind it so don't rule that out. That being said my personal opinion is that boat is priced high. dealers don't sell boats to loose money and 44k seems very high, but I could be wrong. To bend a guide on on a trailer mate trailer is a significant issue to the structure of the trailer. At least it is on mine. It's welded onto the main structure. I wouldn't take damage like that lightly especially of the boat caused it.

I bought an 05 24v this summer and couldn't be happier. Tons of room and great for everything we do.

You are proly gonna try surfing and end up wanting the ability. We have an 05 24 SSV. We love the room inside. I had a 20' bow rider and it was so small. My weird friend still slalom skis behind it a couple times a year and it does it well. At 30mph the wake is pretty small. The kicker-We routinely take 10 to 14 people out no problem. And talk about good ballast!

I always thought those boats looked like Bayliners due to the color layout and graphics. There is a history with the boat. The engine only had 75 hours. When someone rebuild a engine with the expectation to sell sometimes things aren't done as they should have.

Don't get rid of the comp if you "love" to! Keep it as your backup if feasible. I had an 02 sunsport direct drive for 10 years before getting a real slalom boat. The comp agreeably is a small boat, in fact makes my (sorry) Response feel like a ship. Good luck!

I have the best of both worlds! My dad has a 22ssv and I have a Legacy (open bow comp). I cannot stand to ski behind my dad's boat... since you have been skiing behind your comp (the boat I learned to ski behind) no V-Drive will come close to matching except for maybe the Nautique 200v which I think is the next boat for me. I have a hard time spending more then 30K on a boat so I probably will not buy the 200v until it is 10 years old...
