Went out last night and I think it was officially our last day. 53 degree water temp. That's about my limit (no wetsuit.)
Stole the wife's truck and brough the boat with me to work. Was off work, changed, moved the boards into the truck, and drove to the launch in 15 minutes. Did a leasurely solo launch and had the boat tied up and the truck parked before I'd been off work 30 minutes.

Under 15 minute boat ride to our favorite spot. 1 wake set and 2 surf sets in before darkness was starting to set in. Water temp was 60 degrees still. Air temp today was a high of 65. by the time the sun went down, I was wearing a light jacket and had the bow walkthrough blocked off and was using the heater on my feet.

15 minute boat ride back to the launch on smooth water by an almost full moon. Another 15 minutes home with a quick stop to see what it cost me...

All in all a good night.
Water in Lanier is still 73 degrees we went out yesterday afternoon. Only one other boat in the ski cove unfortunately they were surfing.
We came back 1 hour later and got in 2 slalom 2 wakeboard sets and then surfed home. No wetsuits yet but the air temp is falling. We will be breaking them out soon.
Yesterday was a blazing 72 here in Memphis, with the water temp being the same, made for a great last day of surfing before hunting season picks up.
About to ride doubles with the wife

Needless to say, the last day was one of the best even though it was a little chilly, we had plenty of hoodies
Well, we're shifting from boating to fall activities. Camping and tractor shows, parades, etc. While not a boating pic, I'm showing our October activities to my boating friends.

That sure is a purrty pink tractor.
man those tractors can really pull. I like those old tricycles.
Stole the wife's truck again, drove it to work and we'll be meeting at the launch shortly after I get off at 4pm! We have such limited daylight I have to get the boat ready the night before and trailer it with me to work...

Just winterized last night, this is a picture I took at lunchtime today. Snow on October 22nd in Illinois.

Got off work at 4pm. Changed clothes, transferred boards from truck to boat, drove to launch. At launch by 4:15pm. Boat launched, tied up to dock, truck parked, and back at boat by 4:30pm.
Enjoying a cold one waiting for the wife and my buddy...

How the night ended after 1 wake and 2 surf sets...

Is that a LF Fish surf board? If so, how do you like it?
We went out on the 13th. The weather in northern GA was still pretty awesome.
My buddy was riding on his birthday when he caught an edge after landing. The best we can tell is that his right foot came out of the binding. This allowed the board to come around and attempt to scalp him. I was really lucky he didn't knock himself out as out spotters were under 5.
After seeing what looked like a shark attack amount of blood. He was able to get himself on the boat. Once we had pressure on it, the bleeding subsided to a manageable level.
Two hospitals and 13 staples later, he was all put back together again. I guess it was a freak deal, but I think we may start wearing helmets.
Hopefully, he will heal up in time for our thanksgiving ride. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/10/23/nu7eza4y.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/10/23/tu2emeva.jpg
Ouch! Glad he's ok, that must have been a little scary for everyone on the boat and him.
We had an accident like that last year at Allatoona. My 18yr old son took a fall and did not come out of the bindings but still the board edge smacked him good in about the same location as your pic. Same result. That much blood sure did get my attention quick! Glad your friend is ok.
Yeah, I got it new during this season. It's incredibly stable on the water and it has a lot of forward rocker so it's hard to sink the nose and submarine the board. I have the 5'6" board. It's great, although it's not everyone else's fav on the boat. But it's definitely a goto board for beginners--especially ones that are bigger. If I had to do it all over again, I'd just as soon have the 5'0" board because I'm only about 160. So, if you're looking to buy a new fish and down for the 5'6 like mine, then just buy mine with the money you were gonna spend and I'll use that money to get into the 5'0! hahaha!
It's a fun board for carving and it sticks to the water like it's glue.
getting the surf wave dialed in. It felt really good last night.

Our cession today. Air was 59°F, water was 55°F

Yesterday. air temp in the upper 60's and water temp was 58-59. Getting colder. I think a few more cold nights will test my resolve. Ugh!

One of our friends getting a brief freeride. He is actually working to change himself from Goofy to Regular. that's dedication! And he mentions that things don't come as easily after 50!

We had a mascot yesterday. Lilly the surf dog! (okay, it was too cold to have her in the water, but she makes a great spotter!)

Mad pumpkin carving skills!!!
Thanks for using the only supra logo I will ever acknowledge.
Well, I almost believed the weather forecast of cloudy, not to warm, and even some rain. BUT, when sunshine hit my face, we decided we needed to chance it. Especially since I had my son for the weekend and family boating time is so amazing.
I surfed and surfed and surfed... And when the water looks like this, I even finished the day with a wakeboard set. water's down to around 56/57, and we're gonna see a couple of nights in the 30's this week so I'm sure it'll get even colder. (wishing I had a drysuit).

Then we stopped by a friend's houseboat. He wasn't home, but I'd left some stuff over there. Since his boat was parked in his spot off his rear deck, I moored up next to the scrap wood pile. I did make it a little nicer before I left though. What I wouldn't do if I'd had my cordless impact, cordless skill saw and a box of wood screws!

Is that Lanier Michael? I've never seen it that smooth if so.
Yes rob its Lanier. Like most lakes you have to pick the time and area to get good water. This late in the season the whole lake is good as long as there is no wind. In the summer the further north you go the better the water is. If we travel 1/2 hour from home we will have good conditions all day. We just start early 7am and we are done by 930am before the masses even get up on weekends. I have never been a local before its great to know the lake so well.

My dad, brother, buddy ryan, and I competed in the Austin Dam 2 Dam Barefoot race last weekend @ Lake Austin, TX. We got whooped but had a great time! Supra ran great for the 14 mile race. It was supposed to be 20 miles but water conditions prohibited us from using part of the lake (our feelings were not hurt). We plan to go back again next November. Search Dam 2 Dam on youtube for videos. There is a great bunch of skiers down there!
Im searching dam 2 dam and not finding a thing :(
