Nice day on the lake. From 9am to 11am, there was only 1 other power boat on the lake. The water was go good we just kept wakeboarding and didn't even bother with the surfing.

Houseboat Trip Last Weekend
Gopro shot of the CIPA Vision 180
I thought it looked pretty cool.

Thanks for the pic of the uber CIPA mirror, almost bought one at beginning of the season but wasn't sure if it lived up to advertising. I have a regular wide angle CIPA that is pretty good but I lose sight of riders when they cut all the way out. It's about the same field of view as pretty much every mirror on every boat I'd been on. If you can see a rider no matter how far out they cut (looks promising from your pic) then I think I'm sold on this mirror. So please, more details/review/impressions and would you buy it again vs a cheaper more typical wide angle mirror?
I bought both the CIPA extreme and the CIPA vision 180 and compared them one right after the other on my boat.
while the extreme was a decent choice, everyone on the boat preferred the Vision 180 over the extreme. the people in the extreme were a bit larger, but not having to adjust and getting a full 180 degree view (looks like of like a gopro view) is outstanding.
I've also been on a boat with the PTM Edge and the edge is certainly nice. it gets that same 180 degree field of view and has less of the gopro look to it. but the PTM edge is WAY more expensive and honestly for the price ($61) of the CIPA Vision 180 on Amazon.com you can't go wrong.

Here's another pic:

I can see in front of the FRONT leg of my tower to in front of the other front leg. so, yes, I can absolutely see a full 180 degrees. There's no way that anyone could cut far enough to escape my field of view (well, unless they were doing that crazy ski around the boat thing).
So, I've compared it first hand to the Extreme and I like it better. I've compared it to the PTM Edge (WAY more expensive) and in my opinion, the Edge simply isn't worth the price premium.
The only other thing I'd have to compare it to is a stock OEM mirror, and those suck in comparison.
I guess the only "downside" is that you do have to have a ball mount for this mirror (ALL of the Vision 180, Extreme, or PTM Edge require a ball mount). The extreme comes with a windshield frame ball mount adapter. But the Vision 180 doesn't. The ball mount adapter for a tower arm is $40. However, having the adjustability of a ball mount is actually really nice vs my friends that have the mirror that only has up/down adjustment on their tower arm.

A few more pics from last weekend.
boat launch has a woodsy vibe... only place I've been to where the kayak/canoe traffic outnumbers the power boats.

At the boss' request we spent the day on the water today. Decided to take a ride down to the city for a change of scenery. Was nice, haven't been on the river down there in a while. I was worried I'd run out of gas and have to pay extortionate prices on the water somewhere on the way back, but fortunately the boat did much better than I expected. I did over 60 miles and surprised to only burn 23 gal mostly at 22-23 MPH, some idling around and so forth in the city. Seems like 2.6 MPG or somewhere around 8.5 GPH. Speed measured over water, but was going against a 4-7 MPH current for half that. and closer to slack tide but against the wind on the way back. Interesting tidbits, still could use to dial in the carb and I think it'll push another inch of pitch just fine for a bit more economy. Anyhow, pics...
Heading south into Philly...

I never cease to be amazed at the size of these ships, and the amount of water they displace riding up over the bow. Pictures don't do it justice. This one is headed north to the scrap yards by where I ride to collect shredded Cadillacs which return as Kias on another ship near the city.

That's it for today. No riding as it was a blown out nasty mess of thrice a year clowns. Saw a few close calls. Anyhow, tomorrow is dawn patrol.
Nice pics. Back when I had my Nautique 2001 we had a 500 pound fat sac on either side of the engine box and 125 pounds in the bow we came around a bend just north of bordentown and there was a tug pushing a full barge down. I about shat myself haha the rollers that come off those things are HUGE! We took on a bit of water but luckily everything was ok.
You know they had some kind of bass pro tour fishing tournament there a couple weeks ago? I think it was out of penns landing.
I've had my share of experience with tug wakes. Never took any water over the bow though. Either slow and bow high or go parallel to them. I've told my driver if he's pulling me Don't worry about me, do what you need to keep the boat safe and dry. Actually on my old I/O years ago I was in the bow and a fried driving when he was surprised by a huge tug wake. He freaked and went to idle, tucked the bow and I thought we were going down for a secord. When in doubt, throttle out.
Anyhow, my third bailed so dawn patrol is cancelled... Third time in two weeks I'm up before the sun with the boat ready to go and I don't get to ride. Makes me want to sell the boat.
I know that deal. Luckily I have a couple of friends who really like to ski and are somewhat self employed so we can usually work our schedules to get out 2 times a week. If you lived just a little closer you could join in on our fun but I think you would have a 2 hour drive. The place we go on week nights you would get killed in traffic on the expressway. and our weekend spot is on the upper chesapeake
Hmm... 2 hours is about my limit. My one current reliable regular is about 2 hours north and I generally go ride with him every other weekend and he'll make the trek down here every other weekend. So maybe a possibility on weekends at least, weeknights I couldn't be free early enough to miss traffic unless it was real close to Philly.
We have been meeting here wednesday nights at 4. . . . https://www.google.com/maps/dir//40....m3!4m2!1m0!1m0
This is where we go Fridays and sometimes sundays. . . . https://www.google.com/maps/place/Ha...7c9fba4b7aa3fb
I hope I linked the maps right
Cool, either of those are about an hour away. Weekdays would be tough but maybe on a weekend.
24 years ago I just learned how to barefoot, and then I stepped on to this thing called a Connelly Stick. Kind of an oversized slalom ski / undersized surf board with strap sandal bindings that you could rotate 360*. Many boards later - I guess I still have it.

Thanks to the Wifey for the tow!
Ok, not the best video. I'll get better as I go. The light is the transom light buld that I updated with a 12 Cree LED Bulb.

Hey Trayson, did that voyage take you out to my neck of the woods in the high deserts of central Oregon? Kinda likes like Prineville resevoir? If not then where? > Lots of good waters there to be had, in fact we were there several weeks ago and camped in Roberts Bay, pretty sweet in that you can just pull up grab a free camp sight right on the lake! Its right across the lake from the state campground!

I coulda sworn that they had posted the event up on this site and not just the Moomba site. But maybe I just had that notion in my head since I'm on both.
I'll for sure tell them to cross promote it! I think you're the 2nd Supra guy that said they would have come. It was fairly dominated by Moomba, but there were 2 of us out there with Supras.
I would have been there too if would have known about it.
