Lol that's great. After I wrote that post I thought about it for a while and then I sent him a text asking if it was the same boat and he acknowledged it. I then stated it was a 351 and not the 454 and also asked if he fixed the stringers. He then asked "how do you know it's a 351" and "whats wrong with the stringers?" ahhhh because I test drove the boat and almost bought it and the stringers are rotten lol. Then he comes back and says, yeah I know they are rotten but the boat drives and runs perfect...Quote:

I went and looked at a boat and they guy kept oogling over how clean it was. I drive 2 hours, check it over and it looked good. Pulled the dipsticks, and the drive was full of milk.
He tried to say he had no clue, and would have it serviced (probably just an oil change)
He calls me back two weeks later to say they changed the oil and now it runs great....
That was 3 months ago. Its still on craigslist...

I wonder if its really a 454 and the seller is mistaken. Supras never came with an olds motor afaik. different bellhousing bolt patterns so the usual trans options won't fit without some kind of adapter. Wish there were some engine pics in that adQuote:

This isn't a solicitation, but I do know this boat. It was well maintained at a marina for as long as I can remember, but the owners got a newer and smaller Nautique. While the structure hasn't been redone (to my knowledge), I suspect this boat has a lot of life in it still, so I thought I'd share.

Price seems way high.
Also note that is a wood stringer boat not Kevlar as seller states.
Floor replaced but no stringer work. I would check that very carefully.

$12k-$13k is about top dollar for these boats. I would be concerned that they went almost to the stirngers but didn't bother. That's a lot of work to do a floor and cheap out on doing the stringers when they're right there. More likely the cap was no removed and the floor was just patched in or even worse laid over the old rotten floor. Looks real nice but check it over closely for shortcuts and rotten stringers. I wouldn't pay over $10k if everything checks out fine, on account of original stringers that will eventually need to be replaced.
