Yeah, like that will happen. :p

Very nice, it's the Sunsport clone to our Launch. We still love ours, just wish the carpet unsnapped.
Congrats!!!!
Bags...weight...waves....blah, blah. You need to bring both boats to the Reunion this year and I'll gladly pilot Mischief IV for you. Now that's a sexy beast of a boat.
Nope. It's running fine. Or at least it was when I winterized it. Feeling pretty good about having all of the bugs worked out and am ready for this coming summer. I just think it'd be a shame for you know who to show up in that wake monster and leave the true beauty at home.
Remember that one time at band camp when you kidnapped me and stole my boat?

Mr. TitanTn, please re-read post #1 in this thread. If I recall, last time I brought the "sexy beast", we ended up anchoring it and jumping in to drive the surf boats. The Rider should be (will be?) on a lift at La Casa Del Lago when the "After Party" begins. If you show up, you are more than welcome to wax it!
Also, love the term Wake Monster. :p
Yes, I remember that day fondly. And I aim to do it again.
Just because you now have a surf fetish, it doesn't justify abandoning the Rider to go hang with the "cool kids." The only way I do show up is that Rider WILL BE on the lift.
Finally got the registration from the DNR.
Would like to get a nice set of letters/ numbers that match the raised Supra on the side if possible.
Looking for suggestions on best options. Let me know.
Design your own and get them printed anywhere vinyl graphics are printed. Give me some direction on what you'd like and I can get them designed.
Let me rephrase the question then. Do you know of any different options vs vinyl?
(This is a boat forum, not law school btw.)
You know me, I can make my own and have them chromed if it's what I wanted.
You have a 3D printer I can borrow?
Post pics if you have done any custom registration letters for your Supra other than vinyl. I can always default to simple vinyl.
Thanks in advance.
Something smaller? I like the chrome letter look.

Let me rephrase my original answer. Better is a relative term because I don't like thick chrome letters for the registration numbers. But that's me. So if I'm answering the question about something better - for me it's designed vinyl versus a stock vinyl off the shelf.
But if you like it, then I'm on board (hope to be literally this summer!) I don't have a 3D printer but I might be able to get to one. Let me know what you want.
I know you and know chrome raised is not for you and I would despise you if you ever put those on your gorgeous '86 Saltaré.
Let's fast forward thirty years though and take in consideration the title of this thread which is "New to me Sunsport 242."
Seeing that the sides of this boat have 6 feet of chrome lettering, I was perhaps considering something to accent the logo or make similar in color/ style for consistency sake.
If that doesn't exist, then I can accept vinyl but want to see what's out there before
I make my final decision.

Is it summer yet? I want a ride on that new boat.

Sharp boat! Is the wake ski-able? I've rode with Ben a few times up in IL and understand that this will not be a Comp wake.
Thanks, we are loving it so far. I'm sure you can ski behind it. Not sure I'd want to if other options are available. I have not tried it yet. It has the pull up pylon in rear if needed. It weighs more than double what a Comp weighs (approx. 4600 lbs vs 2200 lbs) and with the motor in the back, leaves quite a wake.
We bought the boat to wake surf/ wakeboard so efforts have been geared towards finding the best wake every chance we get. I've already put 20+ hours on it so far this season. I will try to post some of wake minus ballast at good cruising speed sometime for you.
Here are some newer pics now. New lift was needed to store at lake and has 6500 lb. capacity.

These pics are without a suck gate. Purchased one before Memorial Day to try it out but suction cups do not like the side of my curved boat.
Sent back to manufacturer and they have modified. Will test out this upcoming weekend. Bit of a disappointment so far in that regards but boat has surfable wave with the 1100s in rear. Few extra people help. Height and length of wave is good but need little more push. Every time we go out, we play around with a different setting. We are still in discovery phase.
oh wow that's pretty good considering no gate of any kind on there. But i'm running basically the same setup as you with 1100's in the rear lockers.
As a side note, with my gate on, I'm putting it basically as far back as I can get it then angling the plate so it creates a bit of list as well. That seemed about to be money with rear sacks full, ~20% up front, no plate, & running that 10.5 or so. I'll try & get a pic next time I go out, but good luck in the mean time!
Thanks for the info. Yup, heard the suck gate is the ticket. I'll find out soon enough. I looked up the Nauticurl. On back order.
So right now I list mine over. 1100 whichever side we surf and usually 20-30 percent on opposite bag. Few people help on same side. Center bag at 100 to keep bow low in water. Usually put a person up front as well. Wake plate up and 10.5 or 10.6 mph seems to be perfect speed.
Some pricy options at Wakemakers: https://www.wakemakers.com/wakesurf-systems
You are just showing off now! Great looking boat!
Congrats on the upgrade.
Haha, it's what I do!! :) Thanks.
Got suck gate to work yesterday. The mods worked.
Wow, when you put 2200 lbs in rear, full tank of gas and a few people, what a difference it makes. Few pics.

Looks like you got some good length to that wave. What kind of suck gate are you using?
