I have an '88 that I bought in '93. I love it but its ready for new carpet and upholstry. To someone's previous comment, I once snapped my rudder clear off doing a power turn just outside the 5mph bouy after launching. That didn't deter us. I used my emergency oar to steer from the back while my throttle man worked the speed. We got a couple hours of cruising out of it.
Wow I havent checked this thread in a while. Very impressed at the engine mods and custom work people have done. THIS IS LOVE!!!! Boat love

I pick up the new trailer from Boatmate next week and while I am there I will stop by Viper and drop off seat cushions. Question: thinking about ordering new carpet from Jim, but how hard to install? Has anyone done a self carpet install and how did you do it? Thanks. PS - Old trailer sold the first weekend on Craigslist.
alignment of the carpet once I'd rough cut the shape was the tricky part. I used the Henry's outdoor carpet adhesive avail. at Lowes. I started at the front and worked my way back adding adhesive in about 2' increments.....trimming carpet as I went. Stuck down really well......
i am redoing an 88 comp. has the 351 windsor in it. would somebody be willing to snap some pictures of their motor for me so i can
see where all the wires need to be hooked up. Or is there a good place where I can go to get this information? thanks!

Jshepp122. I've got an 88 with the same color scheme. Mine's not a ts6m. Never thought I'd like a pink and green boat but the retro colors grew on me.
You have a comp thats not a ts6m?? What makes it a ts6m??

Welcome man.the board is a lil slow right now because everyone is out playing. Nice boat.
Thanks Jet, I am at the end of restoring, rewiring, and putting a killer sound system in. I hope to be out playing as well soon! Your 89 comp is sharp!!!
Thanks man. Post up your upgrades and fun shots!
Hey, guys -
I hope to be joining the club here real soon. I'm shopping for my first ski boat and I really like the look of the older Supra Comps. I'm currently looking at an '88 Comp TS6M. Would love to hear your opinions on the following deal..looks pretty sharp to me:
http://tippecanoe.craigslist.org/boa/3055646077.html
Thanks in advance!
For that price I would expect a tower on it. But thats a SUPER looking and unique boat. I would just talk him down $1000-$1500 so you can use that money to get one. If you like it I would be all over that thing. Its beautiful and unique!!
Appreciate the feedback. You've obviously been pleased with yours..I just grew up around Nautiques and Mastercrafts so the Supra brand is still new to me. I'm a little gun-shy because I know what I'm getting in terms of quality with a Nautique, but I prefer the look of the older Supra and it's low profile. I keep reading about the stringers rotting. Are you pretty much guaranteed that you'll be replacing those at some point regardless of how well the boat is cared for? Doesn't sound like a job I want to mess with or have to pay for, so that concerns me.
I've considered searching for newer than '92 to get around the stringer issue but the newer Supras, that would have fiberglass stringers, they don't have that low profile appearance, correct? Any idea what year they changed the design of the hull on the comp to where it doesn't sit as low?
Thanks,
Corey
Mistype - it si a 1990! Thanks for catching it

mine is an 85 fully restored
I will be taking it out for the first time this weekend, I feel in love with the vintage supras so I found this one for 6k and had a full check up on the engine and floor...everything seemed great. I'm new to the forum so I will post more pics after the weekend....
? can it really hold 6 people... it seems low in the water judging by the pics on others...?
^Jet- Where did you find that sundeck.??
I made it!! Copied the old Mastercraft x7 model. Huge sundeck/holds 700 lbs fat sac/and the storage hatch underneath it is now a ice cooler with leds. 3-birds killed with 1-stone.
1988 comp. new to me last week.
