Really nice job. Now I want to do mine
Salty87, yeah I did a quick wetsand when I first got it but will hit it again before the season or before it gets wrapped.
Has anyone cut their wake plate and added a piano key hinge before? Im wanting to move away from the fixed wakeplate but retain the factory mounting. Eventually will add actuators instead of the manual adjusters. Does anyone think it'll be too much stress on the hinge?
Thinking about doing the same. Do you have any good sources for an appropriate hinge?

There's one on greatlakesskipper.com that im looking at http://greatlakesskipper.com/sea-ray...o-hinge-single and just cut it down and bolt up?
Update- Haven't gotten much done, waiting on parts to come in. Installed a remote in the rear vent. I have to give all the credit for the idea to TitanTn. Mine sits a little high so I might tinker with it some to get it to flush mount. Painted the polk speaker grills gloss black over the bronze cones to match the interior. Installed one of the gunnel panels, and a quick snap of the teak platform. Im polishing out the stainless trim now so it looks almost new when it goes back around the platform. Here's a few pics

Wow! I'm honored to be called out on this restoration. With what you've been doing on the interior I wouldn't have thought there was any comparison to mine - but it's a little easier to hang if we take the upholstery out of the conversation...
That teak is looking awesome. How much sanding did you do before applying the teak oil?
Put the last layer of glass on the ski locker lip, installed the new strut bearings, installed the dripless shaft seal, teflon packing for the rudder, recessed the remote for the radio some more, loaded my tower speaker enclosures, installed the speakers in the boat. My Cipa 180 mirror came in. Now im building the amp rack and waiting until I feel comfortable enough to pull the boat out and put the tower on for the season so I can install the wiring harness, speakers, bimini, and mirror.

Okay. Enough is enough. I'm calling you out as liar. You actually work in the upholstery business, right?
You caught me... I wish I did, maybe it would have gone a little faster.
Building my amp rack and a better view of the tower. The amps are now held up with 1/2 spacers and the backs are cut open for more ventillation. The rack will get wrapped in matching tan carpet.

Where is the amp rack being installed?
Over the weekend I got everything wired and installed. The sub sits in front of the amp rack until I build a new box to fit in the bow so I can have my footrest back. Had to cut and mount 1/4" plate aluminum to the bottom of the seat because it was too wobbly for my liking. Also made the new aluminum anchor door and walk thru doors. Which will get gatorstep soon.

Nice work. You might be cautious about water with that amp placement. If you or anyone else enters that area fairly wet, or you get some water splashing in, those aren't fully protected.
Haven't been working on the boat too much lately. Lending a hand to some friends with wrapping up their projects. Started another interior on a prostar and am in the process of helping a friend move an axle on his boat trailer we built last spring. ON TO THE PICS!

You built a boat trailer with that welder?!?!
I am complete flabbergasted. You've got some kind of abilities!! How much did the total materials/supplies/etc cost you for the trailer?
Awesome build !
I'm curious as well! Wow.

Wotan- Yeah my buddy was a journeyman so he knows his way around the welders. I think he has somewhere between 5-6k wrapped up in it. But it's fully loaded; dropstar wheels, torsion axles, swing tongue, 4 wheel disc brakes, Fulton f2 2 speed winch and jack, supra hydroturf, wider fenders, the whole trailer was hot dipped galvanized. I'm hoping to Dr up my trailer and build one in the next couple of seasons.
Build me one please. ;)

Found some time to drop the boat in to check everything over. Everything was running well and dry! Also mocked up the templates for the gatorstep pieces to be made and where the yeti will sit before installing the gunnel panels on the driver side

Got to take the boat out yesterday for its first outing of the season. About a 35min ride to a restaurant on the water. It was getting a little dark so pic quality is a little poor. Sending out the templates today.

You are going to confuse a lot of people as to the age of that boat. Well done.
The most beautiful Saltare nearby ! Loving it
grossheim- we can make that happen.
titan, sdc, jet- It is the rare 2017 Salt... Thanks for the compliments.
Does anyone have a connection with getting some new decals made? I want to replace the baby blue wave and lettering with metallic silver. Also would like to update the Saltare lettering aswell.
I designed my own replacements for the Saltare name, so I don't have anything stock. I also designed new graphics for the side of my boat, but again, it's not stock. Michael Hunter is on this forum and I think he has connections to someone who can get a factory style replacement decal. So you've got options.
You can see my side graphics here: https://forum.supraboats.com/showthr...3510#post93510
You can see the Saltare badge I made here: https://forum.supraboats.com/showthr...2405#post52405
Did you end up adding a hinge to your wakeplate?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
4nryde- no, I might just have a custom plate made up towards the end of this season and have it for next year.Or I might get bored and do it early!
As for graphics bring a copy of what you want to your local vinyl shop, they can usually cut them out of any color within the day. That's how I had my registration numbers made and plan on redoing my own.

The weather here has been horrible. I managed to make the matching seat cushion for the yeti, and still have to make the seat back. My gatorstep and metallic silver decals should be on the way by now. Also ordered a new trailer tongue and brakelines. We're getting closer!

That seat is sick! I will be stealing that idea for adding another seat in the comp.

Thanks newbee, and dan. I originally was going to build a seat and sit the cooler inside but having to lift the seat bottom, unlatch the cooler, open that and get your drink out was too much. Only adding a few inches to the length of a cooler for a seatback seemed like a win.
That F'n awesome! This coolers are the diesel daddies of coolers...
Where does it go?

gnarlydude- It sits behind the driver seat facing backwards.
After installing, the seat back sits a little high. I haven't decided whether im going to cut it down lower or leave it. The wife is happy with it soo....

So the seat back bugged me enough to cut it lower and repaint
