Hard to believe it’s July already. 13 days until the reunion.
The T-shirts are ready and I will be shipping them out this week to all the people that are not attending the reunion. You will have them before the main participants even show up.
See you all soon.

My boat will be staying in the lift at home while Laura and I attend. We are aiming to be there Saturday morning around 11:15-11:30 I think if all goes according to plan. We are both looking forward to this and cannot wait to see everyone again.
Hello, Just saw this post. I am new to the site and am going to try to make it up to this event. Hope to see you all there.
Thanks, you too.. I hope to be up there Saturday morn by 10am. What public ramp is closest to where everyone is hanging out? I have only been to that lake once so I don't know it at all. If you know anyone with an extra room for me to stay the night and split some cost that would be great. My wife is working so i will be alone unless one of my kids come..
Sent another PM. Will put this out there for anyone else considering driving up.
The ramp at Canal Lake Road (crossroad Pat Colwell Rd.) on the south side of the lake closest to the main Hwy 515 is only 1.5 miles from the two houses where most of the attendees are staying.
The parking area is very small and limited. Day trip guys should have no issues if coming in early. (No dock though)
If we need to, you could launch and we could move trailer over to one of my neighbors’ houses for the day. Those that are coming in for longer, I have permission to store the trailers at my neighbors property as long as we don’t block the left garage door and allow her access if need be like we did last year.
Alternatively, the ramp at Deever’s Road (crossroad Hwy 129) is on the north east side where we may be hanging out during most of the day towards deeper water. There is ample parking and a floating dock.
The choice is up to.
There is a marina across from Canal Lake Road ramp if you want to pay higher prices for gas but not have to take boat out. This entire area is a NO WAKE zone and be careful not to speed through it.
Murphy Gas located next to Walmart is the cheapest in town besides the Ingles. Both are five min away from the Canal Lake Road ramp.
There is a Valero Gas station 2 min away from houses that offer Ethanol Free which cost a few more pennies if you need that.
The deep water is towards the north end of the lake and approx. 4-5 miles from the marina. We surf up here mainly due to the many docks being located on south end and narrow channel. We may take up the pontoon boat and anchor for those that don’t want to go around in circles all day or wish to take a break and if you need to free up space on your boat, can put your items onboard. There are no public bathrooms other than the campground area so plan accordingly.
I think we will raft up a bit on Saturday and Sunday for lunch then we are planning on doing a dinner together on Saturday night as a group.
If you wish to attend, we will all head back to the houses around 6:30 - 7:00 pm ish. We will have pulled pork sandwiches and sides. If you don’t eat pork, feel free to bring what you want and use the stove or grill to cook your own. If you have a side dish you would like to share, please do so, just let us know what you are planning so we don’t end up with 3 of the same thing. If Saturday evening goes well, we can pull something together again for dinner on Sunday but for now we can play it by ear.
If you are staying up at the campground or north side of lake and don’t want to run the boat back at night, you can always drive down
to the house. Night running is fun but can be tricky if not familiar with this lake as it has many twists and turns. There are only a few areas of the lake that may be of concern with hazards and most of them have markers.

Cleaned up. New brakes on the truck and fresh oil on the trailer bearings. Headed out in the a.m.
Se 450, wahoooo .
My pirata is down for the count but going to show up with pontoon not what I planned but hey it’s still a vacation on the water
Water in cylinder #8 it happens lol just a little bit more money for the love of my life um I mean my boat.
Well the wife and I made it to Nottely. Pretty good trip. 8 hours of driving. The 1997 12 valve pulled the 24ssv through the mountains like a champ. Once on the water we had a little mishap. Not really ready to discuss it. But everyone is ok. Except the drivers side of my boat and the prop of Daniels pontoon boat. Shane is Knoxville is going to have a major project this winter. Not going to let some cosmetic damage ruin my week of fun!
Day one in the books.
Gogger, SouthernGrounds, bssteven0, & InAir got the party started with some good surfing. Took some pics but see if I can post up later.
Awaiting Loadup, Michael Hunter, RLove30188, MJHKnox and Jetlink (via LaGuardia) tomorrow. If anyone else is coming in, give me a call if I sent you a PM.
Looking for Pirata86!
The stopover point for me tonight.

Up early as usual. Day one was a blast. Probably surfed more in one day than I have all year.
Look at the glass this morning. Hopefully someone else gets up early one day this week!
A few more pics from Friday.

More from Saturday
Day two in the books.
Started to gather more people in from all over the country. Rafted up for awhile and then got out for some afternoon surf sessions.
Dodged rain at times but nothing severe. Clouds helped cool down the air temp and came back to have a beautiful evening with appetizers on the dock and then fresh pulled pork sandwiches for dinner with lots of sides.
Extra special thanks to Gogger and Mrs Gogger for all their time and effort to prepare a dinner for 26 hungry souls.
To all the people that helped make dinner a success, thanks so much!

Attachment 18791 getting the surf wave dialed in.
Attachment 18792. Early morning session. Well not real early.
Day three in the books.
8:30 am wake up and then multiple texts to confirm others are recovered from the previous day and ready for the first slalom session of the reunion.
Took out Gogger’s 24SSV and the awesome sounding ‘91 Sunsport belonging to InAir.
Jetlink and RLove30188 got some better slalom runs in before I stunk it up.
Gogger and MJHKnox looking suave on the wakeboard for sure.
After good photo op, headed back to house to grab breakfast.
Highlight of the day came when SouthernGrounds taught his kids how to wakeboard behind his new ‘06 21V. The kids captured the attention of many attendees and neighbors watching on the docks.
Sometime around noon, we headed north and rafted up in a beautiful cove.
Little by little the boats trickled in and we had a great afternoon with brisk wind and good cloud cover that kept it a very comfortable temperature.
Had to take Jetlink and Mrs. Jetlink out for a surf session before they journeyed back to Chicago. Mrs. Jetlink was a first timer on a surfboard and she did very well, getting up easily. Even Mrs. Mischief IV got in on the action and decided to surf a few times.
After a brief farewell to the Jetlinks, Gogger was headed out for a sunset surf session with MJHKnox and Southerngrounds so I decided to hop on under the guise of being the photographer.
Great way to end the day as we rolled back in near dark.
Tons of pics so far along with tons of fun. Stay tuned.
Still looking for Pirata86. :) lol
Day four in the books.
No better way to start the day than another slalom session behind a beautiful Comp.
NoWake and his better half made the trip down from TN pulling along their beloved 1991 Comp with only 744 original hours.
The glass water was perfect for the incredible exhibition of slalom and barefoot skiing they put on for us amateurs.
RLove30188 got in on the action followed by yours truly who decided to stink it up again.
InAir did a great job running his boat parallel to the Comp allowing us to get some great action shots.
By noon we had returned back to base camp hoping to dodge the impending rain. Unfortunately, the rain came and soaked quite a few boats for a few hours with while we waited it out eating snacks on the porch.
By 3:30pm the sun came out and the skies cleared. Without hesitation, it was time to load the boats and head out to surf.
Bssteven0 came over to the dark side to try out the 242’s wake.
We enjoyed watching him shred the wave with incredible 360s.
InAir and his lovely wife got in on the surf action as
we ended another great Supra day with a picturesque sunset over Lake Nottely.
Day five in the books.
I called for a nine am surf session. Bssteven0 was heading back to Panama City and needed to unload some fuel to lighten the load. What a better way to do it than load up the SE with even more ballast and people. I believe we were in the range of 5500 lbs of ballast if my calculations were correct.
Quite the wave and quite the fun time for myself, Gogger, MJHKnox, Inair and Loadup (second day trip) until it was time to say goodbye to Bssteven0.
InAir was the next to say goodbye and then it was down to three boats remaining.
All three loaded up for another PM surf and wakeboard session followed by a raft up with the remaining 15 participants.
The evening concluded with a surprise birthday party for Mrs Gogger.
Pirata86 has been found.
We had a great time and enjoyed meeting everyone. Tammy took my advice and threw out the tent and air mattress so we are officially DONE with camping. Our traditional vacation luck caught up with us on the way home when the center band on one of my tires failed causing it to swell up until it rubbed the fender. Fortunately for us there are good people out there who gave us a safe place to park her for the night until we could locate the tires and make minor repairs. The family is not complaining about the hotel though.. we truly are the real life Chevy Chase Vacation movie.

“THIS IS NO LONGER A VACATION. IT’S A QUEST. IT’S A QUEST FOR FUN. YOU’RE GONNA HAVE FUN, AND I’M GONNA HAVE FUN… WE’RE ALL GONNA HAVE SO MUCH F***ING FUN WE’RE GONNA NEED PLASTIC SURGERY TO REMOVE OUR GODDAMN SMILES!”
- Clark Griswald
I had fun with you guys. I know you’ve had quite the adventure but can’t thank you enough for driving the long distance and allowing us “standard” people to ride in that gorgeous boat of yours.
It was a pleasure meeting you all and hope we can meet up again. Safe journey!
Lol, that pretty much sums it up... made it home safely and had fun so nothing else matters.

Day six in the books.
Got to sleep in a bit. With all our house guests gone and feeling the aches and pains of the past few day’s activities, it was nice to have the morning off.
After a great breakfast and the weather looking perfect, we gassed up the boats and headed out for Wakeboard Wednesday. Gogger eventually made his way over to dark side and wakeboarded behind the 242. Of course, I had to give it a go just to remember what falling on your face feels like. :(
Gogger still has a full house so later on another raft up was called for with the 4 remaining boats. [Pirata86 maybe the most elusive attendee ever :)]
To have 15 people still in attendance on day six is a reunion record.
We added an additional 500 lbs of lead ballast to the 242 and went out and had an incredible late evening surf run on glass water. MJHKnox really knows how to set up a surf boat and after a few minor adjustments, had it dialed in perfectly.
Mrs Mischief IV finished up another awesome day of surfing, bringing us home in style tearing it up on her board.
