Went for a little ride today... first time taking this boat out. She ran great! Had an inaugural beer on board with my buddy to celebrate.

And here is the completed barn. I still have more grading to do, but once I get the boat back on the trailer, it has a new home.

So, what are you going to store or park in the basement now?
Still far too cold for me to get the boat out of storage... but.... tackled a project yesterday. This is my old beater JS550. At some point in its hard life, it was crashed into something HARD. When I bought it, the front had been rebuilt out of HVAC aluminum, pop-rivets and bondo. It always leaked and has been to the bottom of the river several times because of the bilge pump running out of juice.
I decided it was nice enough on Sunday to work outside and figured I'd spend a few minutes grinding out the old patch panels and pop rivets and lay down some new glass.
Well.... the pop-rivets just kept appearing, so I kept grinding. Pretty soon, not much left.

Then it was time to start building her back up.... This is after 3 layers of fiberglass and 2 healthy applications of long-strand.

Tonight I'll use some body filler and finish her up and prep her for paint. This will be the GFs ski at some point so.... it will be pink, of course. ;)
I took her out for her maiden voyage today on lake Lanier in north ga. Man that baby ran like a top!

But unfortunately I had to take her out for pre summer PM.

^^^ Nice supra!
Went up to the lake house this weekend to do some projects before the season starts. Didn't bring the boat with me as I had a lot to do, and the water was only 43* so would have been a bit chilly. I plan to get the boat cleaned up and ready to go in the next couple weeks, fortunately the water back home is around 60*, plenty warm.
