With 9 at most remaining, and the odds of all 9 other ~30 year old boats still around being fairly low, I'd say you may never come across another one. This may be the only one. Not a great negotiating position, but that's the way it goes with unobtainium. I'm a few hours from there, there are a couple other members a little closer. If you were serious about this one you can probably get some help in the area to check it out and coordinate things.

I agree, it is very hard search. I do know of one in Ohio, that fellow member here told me about. But i have been unable to reach the owners.

Silly question but have you tried to track down the mold for the top cap? If it's sitting in a warehouse somewhere in TN maybe you could try to buy it and make yourself a new top cap, then convert a SunSport that needs stringers anyway? Crazy idea maybe, but we are dealing with only 2 boats known to still exist out of a potential total of 9.

That is a really good idea. I'm not 100% sure but I think it may have been lost in the Suora factory fire in the 90s. But your right it is worth checking out.

Any luck with the mold for the top cap? You may be lucky and be able to get key dims to get a local guy to put together a mold, but will certainly be the poster child for law of diminishing returns.

Bump on the search. Summer time always gets me wanting.
-
Have you found the boat yet? :)
-
Nope I'm sure will be a long search again.

While you look, get back on the water with a small DD older Trojan.. Chasing ghosts and shadows might be never ending.

ALLEGRO....
I'm in Indiana. The boys and I would love to go on a recon mission for this boat in Ohio.
Just say the word.
