Hey everyone, I ski at about 32 MPH, but am usually on a 75' rope. I am an aggressive skier, but by no means a pro or anything. What length of rope do you all use?
I was a 75' open water guy at 32mph for a long time but recently tried 26' off at a friend's private ski lake with the course because he had lost the other 26' of rope he never used.
I have to say the short rope was fun and actually helped with my off side turn slack. I did however slow down to 28-30mph instead of my normal 32mph.
Haven't been out since due to boat troubles [emoji3525]

I skied (6) buoys at 22' off on my old 89' Conbrio, but the wake was smaller than my 04' launch SS DD. I have been experimenting with shorter lengths, but have not found the sweet spot yet. I think you definitely need to shorten your rope.Quote:

22' off is 22' off a 75' rope so 53' is the actual length of the rope.

I’m a 15’ off skier open water at 32-34MPH behind my Comp, a forum members Comp and Response as well.
Just found my go to set up behind the 24 SSV. 65' rope at 34-35 mph with wake plate at 25% and light load in the boat. There is a wake but at that length and speed you hit one side and jump over the other. Allows you to cut as hard as you dare without getting beat up crossing the wake.
Thanks. That’s pretty fast for me, but as I am experimenting with this rope length stuff getting shorter than a 75’, speeds may change too.
Come on boys shorten it up. My ski buddy's & I are at retirement age. The thrills start @ 34.2 mph And 32 to 35 off.
I fully agree with the speed but our original question came from an owner of a 22SSV. Running 35 mph @ 35' off behind a V stern like ours may get us killed or at least a double knee replacement. The hump you would have to cross under that scenario would be high, fast, and hard as a rock. You flat stern guys get a far kinder wake crossing. Keep skiing hard, my father in law is 74 and still riding the slalom. # lifegoals ��Quote:

I do miss the flatter stern of my Sunsport Skier and the elevated seating position. The MC has me sitting on the ground plus it lacks the three fins up front.
