Help Haugy pick a new color design for his bimini

So i'm getting a bimini for my Supra this year as last year was murder, and with the little one now joining dad at the captains chair, we gotta have shade.

I'm going with a company called www.TowerBiminis.com I'm very impressed with their design, look, and functionality.

But I can't decide on what color patterns to go with. Here are the two designs I've picked. But can't decide on the colors.

So help me out, what do y'all think?

My vote would be door number 1 as choice 1... Clean and simple. Runner up would be number 3, but only if you put the new Supra logo on it...:D Just kidding on the new logo part.

Can't always tell from the pics, but is your interior white or a light gray (as mine was)? My 2 centavos - If interior is white, I'd go #1. If it's light gray, #3 with the lightest gray they have as the accent. Just a plain black would look sharp on it's own.

PS - that's a damn sexy boat (although, I guess I'm slightly biased...)

First one really impressed me my vote goes for it

Stay with a 1-color option like option #1. The multi colors make it look like its from a older model or aged and a solid color will be classic and never go out of style. Like a solid blue shirt from 1985 you can still wear today, but a blue/white stripe shirt with BIG stripes yells out "HEY LOOK AT ME iM FROM 1985"!! Im just sayin. lol

Yeah I vote for number 1, I'm guessing the material is very water repellant but there is always a chance that white could get stained from lake or river water dripping on it.

your frickin tower is sooo slick.

i'd go with a simple design too. if you had a busy boat or gaudy graphics then a busy bimini would look better but you've got an elegant classic. on their site, i'd stick with patterns a, b, or d.

i'm partial to black but i have a black tower. do you have plans to paint your windshield frame?

Paint the windsheild frame? Nope, doesn't need it. And if I did, it would stay black.


The guy at Tower Biminis has been great answering all my questions via email. He sent me a pick of a Moomba with a black bimini on it with a tower that looks like mine.

While I like the black, it gets really hot in the sun. So I'm trying to get a look that has black accents, but isn't totally black on it.

You already starting to spec out the colors of your next boat?

Binimi #5 the all grey with some black accents. Will be cooler and still blend well with the colour combo of the Saltare. Best of all the boat will even have a more era correct look while having modern adds on too. Perhaps a black light or two on the underside of the top too, for a cool night time fun option.

The ol boat has come a long way in the last 10 months or so. Congrats.

I agree with Daff, all grey with a little splash of black! That is, if you don't go with a classy solid black, IMO!

Well the guys from TowerBiminis once again proved how awesome they were.

I told the guy what colors I was looking at, and he sent me a picture of the swatches, labeled for me to see real world colors.

That helped a TON.

So I've decided to go with the Cadet gray bimini, with black accent stripes. In talking on other forums, those with black biminis chimed in about how hot they get. I figured as much, but hearing from them directly, black is out.

I'm attaching the color swatches that he gave me. They are in order as follows from BOTTOM TO TOP

Cadet Gray
Silver
Charcoal tweed
Charcoal
Black

The Malibu in the picture above has Cadet gray with Silver stripes. I've attached a photoshopped image of what mine might look like.

That will look real nice. I had to dry my eyes from "Needs a big number on top so people will think your the PoPo! " now thats funny. Haugy dangit now I am thinking about a tower for mine because yours looks so slick.

You know how hot the black on my boat gets.... Standing next to the Z5 that was covered in black would make you sweat.

Yeah, I remember that now. That sucker was toasty. I'm going with the gray with black accents now.

No pink or orange, I know you'll be dissappointed ya color blind fool.

Id say you need at least 4 HLCD's flying strong above that new bimini too!!

Yes, and it is awesome. I am going to a Tourny in Alabama this weekend, I should get some good pictures.
