This really is not important but I can not figure out why when I post my profile picture does not come up next to my name???? I have the right size picture and it comes up in my profile page but no where else. Any ideas???? Thanks for your time.

Do you have an "Avatar" picture? I think that is what is appearing next to folks names.
Seriously, I am pretty sure this is your "avatar" that you need to get right.
Go to User CP above, select it - then find "Edit Avatar"
THis presents a screen like the one I have attached.
Use one of the methods in the bottom to either point at an online (web) image, or upload
a photo, press save and see what happens.
Todd
Yup - that is it. I never had a picture next to my name, only in my signature.
The process I used to create that screen shot was to add the ringtail to my avatar - and now it's there.
Todd
in order for your signature photo to be seen, you need to upload a signature photo AND add this line under your signatue...
"[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]"
Here's how mine appears:
2009 Outback V
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Thanks for the help. I wanted to put a signature picture but I can not seem to do that either. when I go to edit signature, down below where it says what options are avaliable, upload images says no next to it. Any ideas? Thanks again
I think you need to add a signature before you can put up a photo.
You don't have a signature
RollenRock --- you now have the photo next to your name, I am assuming
that is what you originally were after?
tg0824SSVGG,
Yeah, I have the photo next to my name but why is it that I can not get a signature photo to work? At the bottom of the box where you type in your signature it says "upload images no". Any ideas??? Thanks again
Mine says the same thing for signature picture, says "No" next to "allow signature picture" or something like that.
Last time we discussed this, I seem to recall you have to have a certain number
of posts before that "feature" is enabled. I honestly am not certain, and don't know
how it can be changed.
Sorry - I am just a moderator, not an administrator ... ;o)
And I had my signature picture before being a moderator.
I was also banned at one time - because when I first got my boat, I asked a BAZILLION
questions, that triggered someone's -- must be a spammer --- ban him response.
That was when we petitioned for, and were granted, moderators that are also
regular users - not just people that come in periodically to check for "odd" postings/posters.
It's MUCH better now.
this is how my screen looks
you have to upload the signature picture, i chose option 2, then press upload button below it, then you can preview it above in area above what you see in the pic , then save the signature, you actually wont see the pic in the signature just the sig sig words
yeah my screen does not have any of that. Just a box saying what I can and can not do. Guess I just need to do some more posting. Thanks for the help
If docdrs has it and I don't then the [SIGPIC] thing must turn on somewhere between Post 73 and 89 haha
Maybe it's post 75? (yes, shameless testing)
edit: Nope, not there
Guys,
I can't easily see your UserCP from here (I bet I could if I tried hard enough) - but
my page is nearly identical to iwakeboard's image.
did you add BOTH the following:
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] (note, this is added by pressing the "insert sig pic" link on the page)
AND upload a picture into the signature area?
Mine does not have that stuff tg, mine looks like the earlier posted picture. I have a list of permissions, which includes on that says "no" next to the "insert signature picture" permission and a place to write text for my signature.
Hmm - so maybe it really does have to do with both Doc and me being moderators, but I was pretty sure I had the sigpic before I was ... sorry guys, at least you have your AVATAR pic (to the left of your name) now.
this is all in the edit signature section in your cp, do you guys have that?
rollenrock and iwakeboard, can you grab a screen capture of the "Edit Signature"
that you DO have and post it here?
Again - being a moderator, I have some priviledge, but not super-powers. For instance, I can see what is in your signature, but I can't change it - nor can I see it the way
you do when you go into that section.
Todd
Hmmm - strange - and I certainly see where it say "can upload images for signature: NO"
Doc - we may have to ask Dirk if this is a special setting?
I am on my way to Orlando in about 5 minutes - so won't be on here a lot the next
several days.
Todd,
who is dirk? I've always sent requests to Kurt Jenkins, i"ll email him and get mikey hooked up and ask about the signature if ya want
doc, what do you mean by "run your engine after you change the oil" ? I changed mine this weekend but it's dewinterized...did I do something wrong? haha
Its when you winterize it , the reason why you change your oil at the end of the season is to get the acidic oil out of it for the winter. But if you don't run it after to get the new oil on all the bearings rings etc then the old acidic oil is still sitting on them........got into a discussion once where some guy kept saying that it doesn't say that in the manual......its just common sense. Your fine because your just doing a regular change and will be using it shortly
wake, i sent a message off enquiring as to the signature ...will get back when / if i find anything
doug
Doc - I meant Kurt of course - it was a brain fart on my part to say Dirk. Was discussing
something with someone else named Dirk when I wrote that.
https://forum.supraboats.com/profile...=editsignature
I just created my signature, not sure if I am going to keep it. I could not think of anything.
you can always change it when you get your new 2010 :)
it appears your upload pictures has to say yes in the signature permissions to be able to get a pic in your signature, but i do not know how to change it from a no to a yes
