Project boat for my son. Started on it June 1st.
Pre split before I commited to pulling the floor up.
As we discussed a total tear out.
Total tear out started.
This floor was completley rotten, has anyone got any pics of the holes in the deck where the wires and cables from the wheel go under the deck and into the center engine compartment?
Just curious, what did you pay for it? I sold my 89' last year for $3,900.00, and it was in great shape but needed new stringers. Too big a project for me. Plus, we needed a bigger boat. I miss the slalom wake of the 89' though.Attachment 19360
1000 bucks with a spare engine and drive. I could find 500 dollar projects with enclosed bow but he wanted a bow rider and we could not find a bow rider for cheap.
We have already finished with the floor and we sat the deck back on yesterday.
Took us a good 2 weeks to get it cleaned out and stripped down to nothing.
Almost empty.
Outer 1x6 stringers in.

I can take more if needed and/ or measurements for you. You have 4 holes for bow vents - 2 port and 2 starboard. Battery box that sits in-between stringers on port side with small hole for battery cables. Center hole is for cooler drain plug. Obviously, throttle, engine harness and steering cables on right side at helm. Of course, ski pylon is just front of engine box.
Mine had a 90 and a hose for the cooler drain.
Yes, at the very front of boat (start of bilge let's say), allows air into the engine compartment and then have 4 vent holes on transom to exhaust air, one exclusively for blower. Some boats will have two blowers.
There is maybe 1.5 inches to wood underneath the four vent holes, then it begins to slope downwards just flattening out before ski pylon. The slope allows any water entering boat from bow to enter into bilge along with water from built-in cooler. The bilge pump sits at the lowest spot which is between the ski pylon bracket and front of engine.
In the first pic below, I shined a flashlight into front left vent hole so you could see better. Hard plastic pipe you see in pics is to protect engine wiring harness.
Hope this helps. Again, if you need any measurements or anything, be glad to help.
