i just recently bought a 1989 supra sunsport and am trying to get ideas for the ballast system i want to install... i have already put a decent system in as i have two tower speakers and two 6x9's and a 12'' kicker L7. we primarily surf... i have the non-hydraulic wake plate but i took that off because i think it gives you a slightly bigger wake off and it seemed to take care of some of the propwash we were getting. i have a fiberglas platform which i am going to wrap with jet ski foam and turf so its comfy and dosent tear up my boards. i was wondering if anyone thinks their platforms are really low in the water and hinders the wake...
my list of things to do...
-new prop... i had 15 ppl in boat last week and everyone had to go to the front to get the boat on plane but then it ripped once on plane so i know i need a new one.. i live about 15 min from acme so i am probable going to go up there and see what they have to say..
-ballast... i think i am actually going to take out the backseat and rebuild it into a ballast couch cause i cant stand crap on my floor.. also i pulled my back storage out and there is like a foot between my gas tank and the storage unit so i am going to prolly build something there to if it works out... the front i noticed there is like 5-6 in between the storage box and the side so i wannt come up with some way of stuffing the ballast in there instead of in my life jacket and ankor storage...
-i am going to put 6 1/2'' speakers in the front above my cup holders and then take my 6x9s out from the spotter seat and instal them towards the rear seat to distribute the sound a little better.
-buff and partial sticker wrap or just paint it... we will see how the buff job turns out..
i live 10 minutes from the mighty muskegon river... 15 miles of wakeboarding and wakesurfing glory... flat, wide, and deep...
