I am guessing you are single.
when your boat is on the trailer, loosen the bolts holding the rails and jack them up, about 1 to 2" more than they are now, tighten it back up, this will fix your problem
If you want a depth finder because you wacked a prop, and don't want that happening again, there is no depth finder that will really help you.

It sounds to me like you are running in rough water. These boats are not made for rough water AT ALL. Every screw on it will come loose in those conditions.

having the timing advanced too far will cause that. You can retard the timing by hand, just a little, until it runs better, or check it with a timing light. My 1988 still has breaker points and yours...
