Nice job, you can check codes on this style MEFI too by using an LED or test light. That'll get you a direction to head in.

That is a scotch lock on the end of that purple wire, not factory. You have a manual?

Went ahead and bit the bullet, ordered a new MEFI 4 ECU from OBD Diagnostics http://mefiburn.com/. Got a brand new ecu, they had the correct Indmar program for the ECU; they burned and shipped it...
I’d love to find someone near Seattle to borrow an ECU to confirm that the ECU is causing the problem and not some other cheaper thing to replace...
If I understand this system correctly, the distributor sends off an ignition reference signal that the ecu uses to turn the fuel pump relay on. Anyone see how or why the ecu would fail to prime the...
Jumping the fuel pump relay will get the boat to fire briefly then die. Pulls code 81 after jumping the relay.
Signal wire from fuel pump relay trigger wire to ecu has continuity but has no signal...
I’ve been chasing an intermittent starting issue over the last couple of seasons. Engine is an indmar 320 assault with TBI and mefi 4. Boat is a 2002 Supra SL direct drive. I made my own code...
Here is a parts list/part number tracking I've made up since researching my boat:
15W-40 Pennzoil Marine, API Service SL/SJ/CI-4, CH-4
Oil filter Penzoil PZ52 WIX 33225 51069
Spark Plugs:...
get rid of those wire nuts...waterproof butt connectors...cheap and easy.
Red fluid is probably from fogging oil, I'd clean the spark arrestor (the dirty silver thing on top of the throttlebody) with carb cleaner...only use the brake clean if the carb cleaner doesn't...
That's how my fuel hose is too, no issues. And..that's not a filter, that's the lift pump or pre-pump for the fuel pump in front of it.18075
I ran new bilge vent hose back to the blower last season, although my blowers are both mounted on the stern...good idea to keep them out of the bilge/water?
I ran new fuel lines when I did the bilge...
This, although you may need a needle nose....its no big deal though.
Hey I have the same boat in gray!
Cooling hoses may still have water in them depending on if/how it was winterized.
Double axle ftw. That was a hell of a blow out. Nice job, clean off all that rust before you shoot it!

Sounds like the gauge is working fine. Are you sure the sender is putting out the correct signal for the gauge?

My oil pressure gauge is stuck at 30 psi...grounded or not running or not, no movement. I just ordered a new gauge, hopefully the sender is ok.

Ohm test the wire from the sending unit to the gauge and see if it is the right wire. Sounds like the gauge may be getting a grounded signal to the gauge.

beautiful.
Back from the dead....Any luck with this issue? I am running into what seems like the same thing.
I pulled the boat out of the water with no issues, parked it for a couple weeks then went to fire...
