Quick alternator question. If I go with a new 105 AMP alternator will I have to upgrade the breaker on the back of the engine as well? I think the breaker on it right now is 40AMP - should I got 50,...
So it definitely lookes like someone let their 5 year old play with a drill when they took the top off...
Also, its a combination of rivets and screws. A little bit wacky.
bens, I saw you had...

What did you use for your stringers?

Wow! Just wow! I'm starving this page for when I'm done with the stringers. Awesome job.

would a fork lift work? I was thinking about engine removal too and I know I def. can't do that with a few buddies, haha. Would a fork lift clear the side of the boat? (As you can tell, I'm not...
I now have a lot more respect for all you guys that have done this rebuild before. I didn't realize how time consuming this is - and this is just the easy part!
So I'm making some progress (pics...
Soooo....my boat sank 2 years ago. Last spring I tuned up the engine, got everyting running, then ran out of $ haha. After a nice little bonus check (today) I now have enough to start the major...
Where do you take your prop to get fixed?
This might be helpful.

It's the manual for a PCM engine. There is a section in there on how to align your engine...
Sorry, stupid question...I got it.
So I tried to get it started and no luck - no power anywhere. Turns out my battery was dead (I had gotten a new one a while back) so I'm charging it and...
$169 for the Manifold! That's pretty good!
Okay, new question.
Anyone what AMP the breaker needs to be? I'm thinking I need a new one. Also, where can I get the breaker block?
Pretty much why I'm doing this. Can't ever be to safe.
Thanks docdrs and TitanTn.
I took time last night and replaced the wires and cables (I needed to do that anyways), new solenoid, new fuel...
I'll have to call the mechanic to be exactly sure but from my understanding they:
Clear all the water from the engine
change the oil several times
used treated gasoline
have it fogged
winterize...
I agree with you guys that normally all I would really need to do is the regular spring tune up. But since it sank, although the shop did pickle the engine, I want to take every precaution that I...
Thanks Haugy!
It's been a while since I did this. Do you know what oil weight I should use? This is what the manual says...
32°F(0°C)to 90°F(32°C) - SAE 30W “SE”
90°F (32°C) and Above - ...
It still ran back in October when the mechanic pickled the engine (I misspelled that earlier, I said "picked"). It was pickled immediately after it was towed but I haven't tried since then - I start...
Ok, so I'm finally going to start with this project. Got a little busy with a new job.
Haugy...any particular engine fogger I should use?
Thanks for the great tips by the way.
jb weld is your friend!
how do you mean? shaking? low or fast idle speed? etc....?
What about the transmission. I haven't changed the tranny oil before. I'm guessing I should go ahead and do that now?
Awesome! Thanks guys.
I'll probably give it a shot this weekend.
Once I get it running (hopefully), its makeover time for the boat. I'll start a separate thread for the remodel.
Soooo. My boat sank.
This happened last year around October. It seems there was a slight tear where the platform is supported and my pump died while I was gone. Long story short...it sank. ...
skidim.com and db electrical are great places to get parts. If you have any questions about what parts I personally know that skidim does a great job of answering any questions you have
