I'm not worried about loosing the rudder. My question was about water leaking past the o-rings and seals.
Looked like the only thing holding the rudder on was the cutter pin in the rudder shaft. I loosened the tiller arm snugged it up back where it is supposed to be. I definitely need a rebuild or a new...

I have a question for anybody that has replaced or serviced their rudder. Does it have a replaceable bushing on the shaft that comes through the hull? Mine has a little play in it...
i installed a new starter from db electrical. now the boat starts easy and seems to be charging {boat runs with ground cable off batt} the old starter had a good bit of water in it....

I dont remember there being a wire from the alt to the starter.... Only a ground from the block to - battery terminal, + terminal to starter solenoid. There is a red wire from the wiring harness...
