As mentioned, Travis did sell this boat a few years ago. Since then we've helping him do a couple of reversible pump based upgrades on the two Malibu's he has purchased.
An aerator pump based...
I suppose one could do that. It it would pretty well defeat the point of doing such an upgrade. Besides failing frequently, those valves are also a huge source of restriction, accounting for a nearly...
Haha, gotcha! I suffer from that same syndrome as well, but sometimes the only solution is to do it correctly.
You can mess around with re-routing the fill hose, adding loops and coils and stuff,...
Installing a vented loop and removing the scupper from the intake fitting is the only sure fire way to eliminate a siphon from being established and filling the bag.
Why don't you want to install...
Glad you're happy with the performance, it's definitely a worthwhile upgrade if you spend a lot of time at slower speeds.
A 14" pitch prop on an inboard without gear reduction and with a ~250HP engine sounds incredibly underwhelming to me. I would be looking for something closer to 11.5" or 12", like ACME's 525 or OJ's...
V-drives have a 1.5:1, which is necessary to spin these big props, without gear reduction you don't want something with that high of a pitch.
Yep, you'll have essentially identical performance to the 1235, 1/2" of diameter isn't enough to notice.
This is our default "Power prop" for Supra and Moomba owners, and our customers love it!
Which engine is in the boat currently? How do you use the boat (percentage of time spent wakeboarding, wakesurfing, skiing, tubing, etc.)? Are you running additional ballast? What altitude do you...
Your manual is not written very clearly, and the strainer and solenoid valve mentioned have to do with filling the system. Since you're obviously able to fill correctly, let's forget about the...
For good reason, you'll have a great system when you're done with the install, and you'll love having it automated.
No problem, happy to help out.
It happens, don't worry.
Putting the holes forward in the boat was only in relation to the rear bags, because that will elevate the drain fitting location...
Looks like my post was too long, so here's the rest of it:
Correct, aerator pumps will always be faster and cheaper than flexible vane impeller pumps, but those aren't always the two most...
Whoa, I guess this is what happens when I don't get a chance to check replies all weekend! :D
OK, this is good information to have, because it definitely impacts the layout of your system.

Chris-
Your diagram looks good, and I don't see anything I would recommend changing. We have a lot of customers doing simple aerator pump based ballast systems like this, so I think you'll be...
Mikey is spot on. All of these boats benefit tremendously from additional weight in the front (like closer to a 50/50 split), but with a closed bow, and the low freeboard, that can be really...
Sorry, but I have to politely disagree here. The braid reinforcement in the hose you posted only increases the maximum pressure that hose can withstand. That is it's sole purpose, and the only...
Not sure on the weight of your boat, but a standard single axle will be between 800-1200 pounds depending on it's construction (boxed vs. channel) and options (brakes, coupler, steps, etc.).
I definitely think something with a spiral reinforcement is worth the extra effort it may take to find it (you'll probably struggle locally, but online it should be pretty easy to find, and will...
Keep in mind the trailer will add roughly 1,200lbs. to the total weight, but 3,400 is well within the range I would have guessed for a boat of that size based on Supra's construction methods.
No problem, let me know if you want to demo either or both of the props.
There are a number of props that would work very well for you, so ultimately it will depend on which aspect of the performance you want to optimize.
There are two main measurements we use to...
Just an update to let everyone know that OJ props will be up shortly, and they have a lot of great applications for Skier's Choice boats, so keep that in mind if you're thinking about upgrading soon.
That generation Comp REALLY benefits from additional weight forward in the boat, so shoot for at least a 50/50 weight distribution. The easiest way to do that is, as jet mentioned, to keep the...
Yeah, we're taking it slow as we build up our inventory, so we're not marketing it much right now. We've got some cool things we're doing that are new for the industry though, so by the time next...
