First time around was to be a Crew Chief.... this time, Propulsion
Yep. This will be my second time going through Sheppard. First time was 12 years ago (Man! I'm old!) as active duty. I'm guard now, so it should be much more laid-back this time around.
Hey guys!
I'm gonna be down in Wichita Falls during May and June for training. Sadly, I can't afford to bring my boat down, but would love to do some riding.
I'm 31, mature, laid-back, know how...
Get anywhere near the SW corner of the state? I have to go to Wichita Falls for training in May and June. Too expensive to take the boat down, but I'm hoping to meet-up with somebody and do some...
I just can't imagine that it wouldn't run like crap with that much (enough to smell) un-burned fuel going-out the exhaust...
I'm stumped too...
I think you should try putting the thermostat back-in and then check all those spots with your infrared thermometer. (Just for a good reference.)
Try doing a google search on testing the...
If you had a decent amount of gas coming out the exhaust, I would think it wouldn't be running right.
It sounds like a pretty good mystery to me. How many bilge pumps do you have?
Mine bilges out...
Yeah, that grey wire is for your tach. It sends a 12v signal every revolution to your tach.
I'm not a guru on engine wiring either so take this with a grain of salt...
If you ran 12v from the...
Oh, and things to keep an eye on...
#1 Impeller (carry a spare and know how to change it/have the tools to change it on the lake).
These things go-out from time to time and it sucks towing your...
Welcome to the board! Post pics imediately! :)
What part of the country are you in?
I keep crossing my fingers hoping to find a fellow Supra guy from Montana.
9 people?!
Yeah, that'll do it.
Where do 9 people and ballast fit in a comp? (I'm assuming the boat in the picture is the one in question.)
Nicely done though man, that wake is nice!
Kevin, thanks bud!
We have been having more fun each time we go out. Mainly because the boat has been breaking-down less and less as I get all the kinks worked-out on her. (Just replaced my...
It is absolutely gorgeous! There are 2 good ones here that we hit all the time. This one gets a little choppy when it's windy sometimes. You wouldn't be out in-it all the time though because the...
I'll spam a few more, I hope you don't mind...
Giving my daughter a few pointers before her first time.

Few more from Sunday...
My mom took like 300 pics that day lol!
I thought this one looked sweet:
I love how the spray cools you down on a hot day....
My Trans is leaking.
I have to add some fluid once in a while to keep-it good.
When it gets low, it slips sometimes. The engine will rev-up but the boat won't move. However, it will suddenly...
I think this one has had the stringers re-done and all that good stuff right?
The tower is fugly but a guy could take that off easily enough.
$5,000 isn't bad for a boat with new stringers......
That invert picture is SWEET!
The wake is looking good too, what are you running for ballast?
Prob just a little too much weight to get it to plane-out.
I've only surfed a few times, and haven't tried yet behind my boat, but isn't 9-11mph about right?
If you went to an 11-12 pitch prop,...

They can crack very easily if the boat isn't winterized.
The water sits in them and when it freezes, the manifolds crack along the bottom edges.
I swapped a motor for a guy who forgot to winterize....
I always bring a tool-bag with a good compliment of tools. It doesn't take-up too much space (maybe 1.5 cubic feet), and ads a good 60-70lbs of ballast. It's a win-win if you ask me. :)
Hmmm......
Also interested. You have a full set of gauges or just the Spedos?
Post some pics of them too if you could.
Couple more for now...
My mom came with us. She is an amature photographer so she always takes TONS of pictures. She has a really nice camera that will do the "rapid fire" thing and take like a...
