Check your cables for corrosion. My buddy had similar issues and it was corroded cables and corrosion inside the starter.
Mine was pretty tough to turn at speed but very easy at idle or low speed. The rudder was original and had a fair amount of slop. I recently replaced the rudder assembly and just in time. It looked...
Thought this pic was cool but can't figure out what the green orb is. Maybe a Supra Ghost.

Any new developments on making this project a reality. I'm looking forward to seeing a v-drive conversion on an old supra. Mine is probably due for some floor and stringer resto in the next few years...
I would love to put a diesel engine in my Saltare. Wakeboarding through the cloud of black smoke from take off would be sweet.
Cool Think im gonna try the socket method. I was thinking maybe rigging up a steering wheel puller as a press but using the socket in between the couplers would be much easier. Thanks for the input.
Looks original set screws missing. Hope i dont have to cut the shaft.
Looking for some advise on a prop shaft issue. Trying to remove the drive coupler from the prop shaft in my 89 saltare. The shaft coupler is not connected to the transmission. There are no pinch...

Sorry to hear about the passing of your friends. Death is never easy but remember all of the good times you had with them and celebrate their lives. We will all get to see our past loved ones again...
Sorry you lost your rig that's a tough one. Didn't have mine very long but I loved it. Hated to sell but mine was a 99 pete with a 3406E only had about 100,000 miles on the inframe. Beautiful truck...
Take care of thoes riser gaskets right away don't want water in the cylinders through the exaust valves. Check the spark plugs for rust. Check the oil for water.
I have a t-stat style thermostat kit I bought from Discount Inboard Marine and decided I didn't want to use it. It was installed during my engine repair but was not run. I removed it and replaced my...
sybrmike If you find yourself getting tired of your boat I would be willing to trade you straight up boat for boat. Yes it would be tough dealing with the loss but I think I will be ok with it after...
Just picked up some 5200 from depot. They didn't have the 4200. The rtv black silicone is not rated below waterline or marine use but it has been used on outdrives below waterline with no leaks. It...
I'm still not 100% on the reason mine did what it did but after head, intake, exaust, and riser gaskets new flappers, impeller, and a couple oil changes the boat runs great. Had it out memorial...
Well I have a new rudder assembly on it's way but completely forgot about getting some sealer like 3m 4200. My idea is to use some rtv black silicone. It's waterproof, oil proof, can handle high...

Didn't get any on the lake pics. Pretty windy and choppy so we spent most of the weekend on the beach. Finally got some epic wakeboarding Monday morning. Worth it....
Yeah I agree. But in their defense I used to have an online business and some of my stuff was shipped factory direct. So h20 may be at the mercy of Aerial's factory or warehouse. They probably don't...
