Great. PM sent.
Not good ones. I just found a few in an old cell phone backup folder. Most of the pics of the rebuild were taken on a camera, and they cannot be found. The pictures I do have don't capture most of...

Thanks guys. That's what I needed :) I just wanted a second opinion.
In rebuilding the floor of my '86 Saltare, I'm using some new expanding, 2-part, urethane foam from US Composites. I've just allowed the foam to form around the exhaust pipes, as the original foam...
I'm with wotan. If you have the resources and are handy, go for it. I was lucky and my engine mounts were already replaced, so I didn't have to mess with pulling the engine and getting it back into...
I have a monster tower on my '86 Saltare and love it. Last time I was on their website, they had the black Monster Tower on sale for about $1000.
I've heard that marine oil filters have a thicker metal shell to reduce the possibility of the filter bursting. K&N oil filters also have a thicker shell. That is what I've used on mine, and using...
I just wanted to let you know I looked at the ingredients of automotive Bondo fiberglass filler: polyester resin and talc.
So, I ended up bedding the stringers in bondo.
Or, instead of mixing talc with resin, could I use automotive fiberglass body filler?
I've ordered everything I need, but didn't get any cabosil/thickener for the poly resin. Local shops don't carry it. I've noticed talc can be used. Can I go to the store and just get talcum powder...
Thanks for the tips Salty. I've seen the pics you posted, and I was inspired :)
I'm not pulling the cap. I know I should to do it right, but the project is already much larger than expected, and...
I have a '86 saltare that I am replacing the floor in... Which then led to replacing stringers as well. Lots of rot.
This boat did have the motor mount blocks replaced by a marina by the...
You might try digikey.com. I couldn't find anything in a quick search, but that doesn't mean it isn't there.
In order to get them all to match, you might just have to replace them all.
Light layout on my '86 Saltare (although none of mine light up - ever. I'm pretty sure they should - at least while starting. I bought the boat after it had an engine replacement, so I'm not sure...
I ended up calling the supplier for the ignition kit and told them the symptoms. They quickly diagnosed the problem as a faulty distributer, sent me a new one, and I'm up and running.
Running...
I have an '86 Saltare with the 454.
I upgraded my point style ignition to an electronic Delco EST kit. It included the distributor, cap, rotor, coil, plug wires, and a timing harness and shift...
I finally decided to try a new ACME prop for my '86 Saltare, which now leaves me with 2 spares. I'd like to get rid of one.
I'll sell 1 of these 2 (and keep the other as a spare).
Brands...
OUI - Thanks for the tips!
That is a good deal. I don't really need the wires or cap - they are both pretty new.
What about the kit that simply converts the existing distributor to the electronic style:

I have an '86 Saltare with the 454 - and the old points ignition system. I've had problems getting it to start - especially after sitting all winter. I do have it running, but I'm just doing some...
