Nice looking composite Pirata (except that nasty "woodgrain" on the dash). I would buy it today if I didn't have the Saltare.

Well, not so fast... Since the boat is running good now, I had it out yesterday for some cruising and wakeboarding. After my session I decided to open her up full throttle for a minute or so and...
UPDATE: Like I mentioned before, I planned on pulling the carb to check the float. Before I did this I started the boat in the driveway, shut it off and saw that fuel was POURING into the carb a...
Thanks for all the tips everyone. It sounds like I need to update to electronic ignition, regardless if that is the issue or not, I want to order. I ended up removing the entire distributor anyway...
Well I don't feel quite as bad now! I knew it was a bad idea before I started though. I've also heard from my folks about a lot of people running aground right off of St. Mary's point in the past...
Hello to all,
I was out on my birthday last week and decided on taking a shortcut through a bay to avoid a long no-wake zone. (Hudson wake bay, if you're reading this Wotan) I was doing about 30...
I have a spare prop I don't need. It has been reworked once, no vibrations. It is coming of my Saltare.
Starting this at $130. Any offers?

Convinced my wife drive the boat last night. Last year she ran over the rope, causing it to wrap around the prop and drive shaft extensively. Had to do several dives under the boat with goggles and...
12529Went out to Lake Minnetonka for the 4th. Stayed in more of the family friendly zone of the hundreds of boats tied up! Saw two other Saltares, a Sunsport, and Comp all within about 30 minutes. ...

Diddo! What was I thinking when I had my severely damaged spare prop reworked for $110 last summer, should have upgraded right then!
Glad to hear! My only question is... what took you 20 YEARS to finally buy one?!?!
You do know there's that weight station right on 94 across the river ;) Ha, I've been meaning to weigh the boat and trailer, especially since picking up my Excursion :)
BTW, idle speed should be between 650-700 while in gear. If you are making a wake its probably too fast and really should be no lurching, actually quite smooth.
Awesome! Trust me I had my last month of boating last summer entrenched in frustration, glad you were able to figure it out within a few days!
Check your private messages, I had fuel dumping into my engine when shutting off, with the throttle advanced when off and even at neutral.
I like your ballast set up, I have an 86 Saltare and wanted to do the same thing you have. Do you have info on how you plumbed everything? Good luck on the sale!
Exactly how is that sunsport suspended like that? It looks like from the pics its just floating in air!
A little compilation my friend put together...

I love the "I'm not volunteering to help"!! My fingers are crossed for the longest time possible before I have to do a stringer job.
Saw this thread and had to go to the new dollar store in town to get the Totally Awesome Cleaner... the stuff is amazing! Had a whole summers worth of scum built up at the waterline and it took it...
Thats awesome, and way to support my local business! Garelick is 3 blocks from my house, now i know what they make. Small world...
I knew I recognized that water (and dredging equipment in the start of the video)! I went to Winona State and spent some time cruising around there! Awesome video and editing, I've watched it 3...
I got i mine on ebay, lots of sizes and colors for a good price.
Saltare is spanish, it means "to bound or jump".
