I bought a boat from a friend that had water in the bilge for several weeks. When I got it in November I was able to turn the motor by hand with a wrench on the crank bolt. After sorting some things...

Yes floors and stringers were done. There was no paperwork but my friend called Jim after he bought it to find out what was done...he remembered the build.

Was it worth doing the upholstery yourself? What was the cost of just materials vs having a shop do it? I want to do mine as I love to do diy stuff. But the upholstery scares me....would love to...
i ordered a proper 50amp breaker. I tested the alternator and its producing 10-55 amps, nothing more. What gauge wire should be coming off the alternator?
The alternator was from DB electrical and I just replaced the ignition module last weekend...it's a Mallory distributor. I've got the boat by a friends whom is an electrician, gonna test the voltage...
When I replaced the breaker, It was originally a 50a, however I couldn't find a 50 anywhere so It was replaced with a 40a. The Alternator was replaced 3 seasons ago with a 105amp. Prior to this...
Ive been chasing an ignition issue over the last several years. Ive replaced multiple coils, ballast resistor, 40a breaker, and recently my ignition module went bad. Boat runs good, but the breaker...
Ive got to remove the prop since I dinged it last fall...Im having a hard time getting the prop fully off the shaft as it hits the rudder. Is it necessary to remove the rudder to remove the prop?...
I took mine off and installed rubber flaps. The boat sounds awesome!!! Not too loud, but enough to sound really good. Because its a wet exhaust its not what you'd expect with no mufflers. I also...

So I replaced the ballast resistor and I believe it's wired correct...now I have a problem with the boat running. It will fire for a second but will not continue to run...any thoughts?

Hi Gang,
After pulling the motor to do a ring gear replacement I forgot to label where some of the wiring goes, and the starter won't engage with the key. I've narrowed it Dow. To the ballast...
Turns out I installed the new ring gear on the back side of the flywheel....talk about feeling stupid! Had to pull everything apart for a 10 minute switch. It's all back together
I just did this job and pulled the motor, was way easier to see everything out in the open. Took about 2 1/2 hrs to pull, a little quicker to put back in. It's a full day job
Took the starter in today to the rebuilder, they said the end bushing looked warn. They are gonna replace the bendix and bushing.... We'll see???
