Thanks for the feedback. The Sunsport sold, Conbrio was in process of having it's carb re-installed after a rebuild. I think I'm going to cough up a few K more and get a composite boat. The closer I...

I just realized I posted this in the wrong forum, meant to put it in General Discussion. I suppose only admins can move it.
Yeah, I think they both are the same hull color, which I'm not too thrilled about. There's another Sunsport here that has green carpet :o
Conbrio: Cheap, reasonably maintained, lot's of stuff. Some TLC will go along way. Possibly some soft spots... but this is alot of boat for 5K.

I see your dog is a Sam Adams fan.
Congratulations! Which one did you buy?
Thanks for the info. I'm pretty patient, but need to make a buy in the next 2-3 weeks. We're going to spend a month on a lake in WI during mid July to Mid August, so I want to get the boat in the...
Thanks guys. Couple hours is still a long way. Hopefully someone is closer.
And willing to go check out a boat for me? I'll pay you!
KG, you don't happen to be from around Paragould do you?
Yep, it wasn't around very long, guy just said he sold it.
I'd buy that for 3700...
I'm looking for a Sunsport of similar vintage to yours. Do you have original stringers? Can you help us searching with a little wisdom about what part of the boat to be extra critical when examining...
Well, who wouldn't love your beautiful Sunsport? I love that Red. Wish more of them had nice colors, I'm tired of these aqua, or orangy brown reds...
What I don't get is with most of these ads the people never respond. I never get to the point where they could take my money. Makes me think they do it for other reasons. Maybe to harvest active...
I wish you would buy #2 so the guy could take his 4 posts off CL. I would say it would take a special person to buy that boat. But, I have to admit it must be fun riding in the tower. Legal?

I agree, any older boat without stringers needs to be priced accordingly. Too much risk. I've heard too many people say it's not IF, but WHEN.
7-9k range
Ah shoot, too many variables. The Salt is sweet, right price and has had floor stringers professionally done. There is a nice Sunsport, but the Texas fires may consume it! If not, it's not much...
Or are you?
Anybody wanna make a guess at how many late 80's and early 90's boats with wood are still original vs. rebuilt?
Are two small soft spots a sign of unavoidable doom, or could the floor be patched?
Thanks for all the wisdom. I just have to decide where to compromise...
I've been looking for about 4 weeks, and one Saltare, 2 Sunsports and one Conbrio are the only decent choices. How often do...
2k is a deal as long as you will get it out of the ditch...
Awesome information, this helps a ton.
Conbrio would be great because it will fit in garage, easier to tow, and yes, I'm old and like to ski.
Sunsport or Saltare would be much better for the...
Darn, wife won't like that. Was referring to a SN 2001 hull...
