I have a 1988 Comp and just put an OJ 13x11.5 on it last week. Runs great-42mph on the top end. I have always had Mastercraft's in the past, I have noticed with this boat it does seem a little sluggish.

Well, you can put this thread to rest. The issue of my lack of power and bogging has been found and not resolved....
I need a new motor/rebuild. Compression on the motor was way low. #8 was at 105 psi and everything else ranged from 110-118 psi and according to the specs a strong healthy motor should be at 150 psi and not ranging more than 5% per cylinder.

Im pretty sure 105 in one cylinder and 110-118 in the rest is not an insane difference. That wouldn't be causing it to bog down and stop surely? It is low but are u sure that's what the problem is? If it runs ok for a bit then dies doesn't that suggests something else.
