Pro 60 Amp Selection

What do y'all think the most economical, yet most effective amp to push two wetsounds pro 60 WB speakers would be?

Tons and tons of options for this. New or used? Where will it be mounted? Does it have to be marine grade? Does efficiency matter to you? Would you possibly want to power something else/something additional later down the road...?

But just going by your post, this amp immediately came to mind for price, power, and efficiency. You would get a whole lot more feedback on your question from wakeworld or the moomba forum.

I mounting it in a 88 comp in front of the drivers seat under the closed bow. I want to buy 4 in boat speakers from wetsounds, the XS-650s. I want the in boat speakers and the pro 60's to sound best, but don't want to pay for the syn-6 amp... The amp doesn't need to be marine as it will be mounted in the dry compartment and wont see much water other than maybe condensation and the xtra $ isnt worth it to me right now.

Ok, then I would go for 2 amps if that's the case. For the in-boats (650's), I personally would go with a high quality USED 4 channel amp for your in-boats. What comes to mind is the Alpine PDX F4. I've seen them go for around $200 used. I wanted the XS-650's in my boat but opted to get the XS-65's instead and I am very pleased with them. They were cheaper and they don't need as much power but are still a very solid speaker(just a thought). But if you are sure you want the 650's I would make sure to feed plenty of high quality power to them. 100watt x 4 or better. PPI also has a 4 channel model(p900.4) similar to the one I posted above that would do this but I would go with a used PDX instead if I were you.

Do you feel the 65's are loud enough to hear while the boat is moving at full speed. That's the only thing I'm trying to accomplish is to be able to listen to my music while I'm driving the boat?

The 65's are definitely up to the task. I've got 2 in the open bow and 2 by the rear bench with 60 Watts going to each and they are plenty loud enough to hear while driving. The only reason I would say to get the 650's would be so that u know that u absolutely have the best of the best and would never have thoughts of upgrading them. Because there is nothing to upgrade to.... (i.m.o.) If u did pro 60s and 4 xs65's u could use one Alpine PDX F6 and power all of them. I will renig a little on my first suggestion a little though. If u do go with the 650's and the used PDX F4, I would also look for a matching used PDX 2.150 for the pro 60's instead of the PPI amp.

Fyi, xs65's have been on Ebay brand new lately for about $110/pair. They don't come with a warranty at that price though since they are not through an authorized dealer...

(if it were me, I'd do 65's and just have one amp... Less money, less space, big sound)

Since the Alpine PDX F6 is a 4 channel amp, how would you wire into the 4 channels with essentially the 6 speakers (4 xs-60's and 2 pro-60's) ?

One Pro 60 on channel 1. One Pro 60 on channel 2. Two xs65's wired in parallel on channel 3. Two xs65's wired in parallel on channel 4.
