Default Cover for Removed Sky Pylon Hole??

I know lots of people have removed that pesky and useless (juuust kidding!) ski pylon .

What do you use to cover the hole where it used to be? I tried a beer can, but was told that was 'tacky' ::.

I'm pretty sure someone has found a nice cover for it, anyone have a link handy?? Thanks. And yes, I'm kinda back.

Well you can cover it with 6" plastic bilge floor cover that has a door you can pop off and on, thats a quick fix. But if you take the dog house off that hatch floor pc should pop out (might have 2-screws in it) and you can make a new one without the hole. That would be the best way to get rid of it.

You selling your ski pole?? I need one.

I was thinking something like what Jet was saying. If you took out the trim ring around the pole then this 4" deck plate might work... Or you could cut out a tiny bit of floor so that it would fit.

    Welcome back Mikey.

How big is the hole? The 80s Supras have a different pylon than mine. Do you think one of those drop-in cupholders would fit?

Edit: Sorry, missed where you posted it was a 2.5" hole above. The cupholder needs a 3.5" hole.

Hey all thanks for the replies, I think I like the cover that Dandamanf15 suggested but I might have to find something a bit smaller. Thanks again, we'll see.

Based on my evaluation of your situation, you need to do a full cap off restoration and make that area a hatch with open space below the cooler for ballast.

I just removed my ski pole on my 03 Launch and found decent cover at Home Depot, in the form of an aluminum cover that's used when a ceiling fan fixture is roughed in, but not installed. I spray painted it flat black and am going to install it next week down at the lake. The size is only 1/4" off from the donut ring that originally circled the ski pole.
