    Default Leaky Supratrapps

I think I have a leaky exhaust pipe on one side of my boat. I took off the SupraTrapps and have replaced with Fresh Air Exhaust. There is a Flange over the exhaust pipe and I think the exhaust pipe has a hairline crack in between the exhaust pipe and the transom of the boat. Is this typically the place where they are leaking? I have heard of swim platform leaks too but mine looks fine.... Any resources greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome back? I figured you had sold the Supra? Welcome Back!

My guess is that you didn't get a great seal between the flange and the exhaust pipe. A crack is possible, but I'd take it all apart, clean and wire brush it and then put it all backtogether with fresh RTV sealant. I know that I'm still chasing a small leak in either my swim platform, exahaust or rudder -- but since I've rebuilt the FAE and flange several times, I don't think it's there any longer. My swim deck leaks FOR SURE.

Thanks for the welcome back ya i'm back. Just had to take a break from the boards. Have been pursuing my other hobbies i guess like brewing. I took off the FAE today and I think I can see a tiny crack between the original exhaust pipe and the transom that didn't quite get covered in sealant when I was mounting the flanges. The flanges are BIGGER than the exhaust pipes and fit over the top of them. About 1/2" of the exhaust pipe actually sticks out from the transom.

I don't see any evidence of my platform leaking... no spider cracks, no flex in the platform.. However I can't see it from the inside since my rear ski locker compartment doesn't pull out.

    Thanks bud

I hear you on the other hobbies. My boat is out of storage but I haven't even had a chance to pull the cover off, yet. I've got a jetski with the engine out, a 1968 Yamaha motorcycle torn down to the frame and all of the plaster/lathe busted out of my laundry room. My supra is feeling neglected right now...... And I'm overwhelmed!

Exhaust, swim platform bolts, any transom mounted devices, water intake, or the packing rope needs replacing on the drive shaft

rebuilt my swim platform last year. It was getting "mushy" feeling . Inside is a wood core that was water logged to say the least. Replaced the core and reglassed the underside and repainted. Looks like new!
