Default Pulling the gas tank on a 1989 Supra TS6M Comp

    Hello.

Does anyone have a schematic or able to confirm how many bolts are holding in the tank? I have to clean out the tank and would rather pull it and do it right vs. half ass it and keep having problems with my carb gunking up.

I've taken out the bench, loosened the clamps on the gas line and removed the two brackets on the exposed side of the tank.

Thanks for any advise or suggestions about what might be holding it down (other than gas).

Mine is a Saltare but there is only 2 screws that attach to metal bands that hold it in. If it's never been out it's probably just got gunk holding it to the floor. I used a big pry bar to loosen mine up (once I had syphon'd all the gas out.) Once it was un-stuck, it lifted right out.

Thanks. I think that's the case with mine too, and it just needs a little help getting unstuck after who knows how many years.

I'll get the gas out and try tomorrow. I appreciate the post.

Worked great btw. Pry bar was definately necessary, but once it was unstuck an the downspout unclamped, it slid right out.

    Thanks again. Now onto cleaning.
