    Default Bimini added and modified

I finally got around to getting a bimini top. It's mounted via collars on my tower, but I've been trying to figure out how I want to support it when not in the open position, and how I want to keep tension on the top. I wanted to use as few straps as possible, and definitely didn't want to use any straps on the back. I looked around the internet for some struts for the back, but couldn't find what I needed. So I made my own. I haven't finished mounting the front strap, and I still need to remove the rear straps from the top, but this gives you the idea. I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Got the other side done and the straps finished. It's very sturdy and I'm thrilled with the results.

Not quite strap-less, but definitely less-straps. Looks great.

Sounds like something I told my wife recently...

I thought about going completely strap free, but I wanted to have the ability to easily adjust the tension over time, so leaving the front straps accomplishes that, plus they're not in the way at all.
