Default Why you should only use a surf rope for wakesurfing (Warning a bit graphic)

So we are out on the chain of lakes boarding and skiing. My friend decides he is going to surf with the wake rope, against my protest. Sure enough, he had a bunch of rope wadded up in his hand. And when he fell, it took off half his thumb. Just a warning to other wake surfers out there. conrad.jpg

    YUCK!

Does anyone have a surf rope that they love? I don't know what brand mine is but it's just OK. I've used some that are really soft/squishy and easy to hang on to. Mine feels more like nylon rope.

Well that won't buff out, good grief! Was it a Straight line brand wakeboard rope? I use my WB rope for extra anchor line. It's strong as hell, that thumb didnt stand a chance.

I use a big thick surf rope made by accurate I think. Has a t-handle at the end.

Sorry to hear about your buddy, that sucks.

nice pic. Accurate, like they said above. Ditch the extension portion of the rope. Thanks again for the pic. Awesome. Hope your bro feels better.10435_618530503134_38300535_35877814_5544304_n.jpg Tele likes WB ropes.

I use the Liquid Force rope that has the small handle along with the knots and foam pads. This one...

Just talked to my buddy today, luckily he was able to get a piece for skin grafted from his arm to cover the thumb, and still has all the functionality. But its still a good warning to surfers out there.
