    Default Swim Platform Pins

I had an issue with the pins falling out that holds the swim platform to the boat (3 pins). I drilled a hole out on the catch side of the pin then added a locking ring - I havent lost a pin yet!! Has anyone else had the issue? How did you fix it? If you would like pics of mine I would be happy to post!

I almost lost my swim platform because of those pins. I just used 3 bolts with nylock nuts.

my pins completely tore through the aluminum on the transom brackets and then swim platform floated away. Anyone ever change the transom brackets? It seems the lower bolts are below the floor line. I guess I just might have to make these permanent brackets and weld the aluminum.

I was out on the water one day and noticed that my swim deck was lifting up when stepping on the opposite side. After further underwater investigation found that the pin was mia. I had to use the smallest allen wrench I had in my tool box and stick it through the hole and bend it so the swim deck at least couldn't come out of the bracket or do any damage to my boat. After that I bought new pins and check them all the time, but I also added set screws in the bracket that mounts to the transom so after I put the swim deck on it can't go anywhere. It also got rid of the rattle from the little bit of play that it had in it. Now the only downside is if something happens it will probably do some damage to the boat.
