Perfect Pass Flashing and Beeping

The other day my perfect pass started beeping real loud and switching between 6 ######## symbols, some quick words(sorry can't read too fast!), and blank again. Tried turning the battery off and back on again, but it didnt help. After a while of driving it corrected itself. Has anyone seen this before? I'm new to the perfect pass thing. I love the idea of it, cause I have wanted to strangle my friends who drive me while I'm wakeboarding!! It asks me if its in neutral, I say yes and then it says "control is on". The guy who sold it to me said then you just floor the throttle and the perfect pass will regulate the speed. It doesn't seem to work, but when he demoed the boat to me on the day of the sale it worked.....

You cant floor it without pulling back as you approach the set speed. The servo that regulates the cable position can only adjust it so far eather way.
